This is the first film about Herzog. It is probably a little worse than the lineup of "Four Hundred Years of Fright". What I don't understand is why it is obviously a bad story, but it has been filmed from generation to generation. The opening scene and music set the tone for the film. There are some bright spots in the few lines. Like "Only death is absolute." "Don't think about it. My love won't even be given to God." "God is always away when you need it"
