Manifestation of Destiny

First of all, thank Uncle Guy for letting me discover this movie.
Some movies, at first glance, you will understand that it is completely appetizing for you, whether it is script or image style, character setting or other. This movie is such an existence for me.
When I downloaded it and previewed it, I immediately fell in love with ost. This section of Calling the Destiny was so good! Then I downloaded the original soundtrack. There are a lot of praises for this original soundtrack, so I won't repeat it. The biggest feeling is that the slender string music is too suitable for creating a weird atmosphere. Listening to the weird sound sources in the soundtrack, many of them come from string music, especially in the song colquhoun´s story. Of course, electronic music is also indispensable. Because I didn't have time to watch the movie, I listened to the original sound first. I was stunned by the weird music (of course it was just for the plot ==). When I watched the movie again, I found that the soundtrack was indeed the winner, and the sense of existence was higher than the plot.
Besides the plot, it often shocks me. The first time it was boyd lying down and pretending to be dead, I really couldn't accept the behavior of male gods. Uncle Guy in the Desert Enchantress and Los Angeles Secrets (both these two are important works earlier than Ravenous), both give people a sense of weakness but not lack of courage, loyal and innocent but not lack of wisdom. But at this time boyd only has the weak feature, and the whole person is not the uncle guy (acting pass). The later plot made me discover boyd's kindness and humanity: cowardice is because of moral constraints, so he can't be crazy, but he still has the desire to live.
The second shock was the moment boyd ate human flesh. In fact, the human flesh in the movie looks like beef stewed with potatoes, so that when everyone ate it before, I thought it was a little bit of beef...boyd has always resisted cannibalism, but in the end, when faced with the problem of death and eating, his desire for survival made him I chose to eat. He ate it with one bite and was content, but I almost vomited in front of the screen. I always felt that it was indeed a piece of human flesh only when he ate it. In the eyes of those frenzied, people are just to provide them with a source of strength, but in the eyes of Bauer (I), this is still the same individual who thought and had the same joys and sorrows before. It was different after eating human flesh. Boyd's injury quickly healed. When the captain came to examine his wound, his expression returned to my familiar uncle guy (personal temperament), calm as ice. At this time, boyd faced the captain’s question "Can I trust you", and answered honestly "Of course not..." It's a pity that now this courage, courage, and the power of the sword ogre comes from Boyd. The human flesh (ingested the soul and power of others). Before the ogre, although he dared to return to the camp to testify, he didn't have the power to solve the ogre himself. In the end, he still uses the power of destruction and drawing from others to achieve justice. This is exactly the sadness and abomination of war: if you don’t invade others, you will find it difficult and you have no power to take care of yourself; but if you invade others, your own principles have been broken, so how can justice and self-help? Do we really have the power to defend humanity? ?
Interestingly, when Boyd returned to the camp at the foot of the mountain, he used the same soundtrack as the final hand-blade ogre, summoning destiny. And the soundtrack boyd´s journey where Bao came to the camp for the first time, the theme melody is the same as that of Zhaozhao Tianming, but with a variation. The two echoes, and boyd's journey ends here.
In general, I think this film should not be regarded as a horror film, but a drama with dark humor (/war film)
