I first read the 2002 version. I felt that the content was absurd and lacking in aftertaste. The great-grandson’s imagination was much richer than George Pal, but too much content would lead to indigestion and inconcentration of the plot. So looking forward to the 60th edition, I was really not disappointed.
The subtitles I found are in English, which is very painful for me as a three-legged cat; the timeline is chaotic, and I have to keep adjusting while watching the movie~ I can't help but feel that I am quite self-explanatory. But this does not affect my admiration for this movie. Even if a good movie does not have a translation, it can well understand the director's idea.
Amateur spectators just chat about some very impressive clips without replaying them after watching them.
When the shooting conditions were not advanced at the time, many scenes could only be completed by model shooting. The imitation of earthquakes and magma is almost perfect. If it were not for the low level of fidelity of the car and the house, it would not have been seen through if you didn't look carefully.
The director used many angles to interpret the change of time. Yunjuanyunshu, sunrise and sunset, flowers blooming and fading, especially the clothing store on the opposite side is constantly changing the dress of the models, and has made a large collection of women's clothing with great intentions. This is what I admire and admire the most. One of the reasons for the conscious failure of the 2002 new edition.
George, played by Rod Taylor, sits in the time machine and travels calmly through World War I, World War II, and even on the eve of the destruction of the earth, constantly encountering Philip's son. Little Philip, who hurried out when the air defense alarm sounded, was already an old man. He was wearing a set of strange alien costumes. It was super funny. I realized that this is the future world imagined by the director. Subsequently, modern civilization went into destruction.
Subsequently, the original site where George was located gradually turned into a cave. The scene has not been further changed for a long time. Rod used his body language to express the change of time and progress. After these seemingly hopeless years passed, the cave was weathered. He and the goddess Weena met~ The figures he prepared are really enough for so many centuries.
Weena's performer Yvette Mimieux makes me feel a bit like Hepburn, noble and pure. No wonder George falls in love with her unconsciously. Compared with the casting of the 02 version, who would love this version of Weena more?
It seems that I just saw a short comment saying friendship is precious. Indeed, it is really important to have a little partner who supports you. Before the destruction of civilization, George saw Philip's children and grandchildren specially built a park for himself and set a monument to commemorate him. I was very moved, and I was also very moved. From beginning to end, when others sneered at George's ideas, only Philip believed him completely, admired him, and passed on his deeds to future generations. When George said to Philip's back, "Thank you for being my loyal friend", I felt mixed feelings in his heart.
George is really a brave person who has never hesitated to start crossing for the sake of faith, and resolutely abandons the world for love. For his bravery, for the trust of his little partner unconditionally 2, I give full marks!
As for which three books did he bring? The director left space to the audience. I won’t speculate randomly. I just know that if I am given a chance to travel to the future and lead the people to regain knowledge and create a new world, I will definitely go~~ It’s awesome!
If you read this one first, you must also read the 02 version, otherwise, why would you have your own judgment? Come on~~ friends!
