A postman like a poem

Sicily in Italy must be a magical place. I say this not because of its beautiful scenery or its unique and long history, but because there have been many wonderful movies on this island. For example, two of the "Finding Trilogy" by the local Italian director Tonatore are set in Sicily-"Paradise Cinema" and "The Beautiful Legend of Sicily". Another example is the French director Luc Besson's "Blue Sea and Blue Sky", not to mention the awesome gangster film "The Godfather" in the history of filming a large number of scenes on this land. Of course, there is also this "Postman".

At first, I didn’t know that "The Postman" was also a story that took place in the land of Sicily. It was just that when I watched this movie, the feeling I produced made me suddenly think of "Paradise Cinema", those quaint and yet unpretentious. The cramped buildings, the blue waters, and kind-hearted but "self-sufficient" people. What's more, the great poet Neruda in the film and the projectionist Efido in "Heaven" are played by an actor. All of this is the reason why I linked the two films. Later I checked the information and found that both films were shot in the land of Sicily. Some of my guesses and doubts were solved.
And that's how I am, just like falling in love with "Paradise Cinema", I fell in love with this "Postman". Tell me how did I recognize such a movie? For so many years, watching so many movies, those romantic feelings have always made me feel that it must be a wonderful thing to have an extraordinary way of meeting people or things that I like. For "The Postman", that's the case. At first, when I was watching the Korean movie "Romance Story", there was a scene in which the three male and female protagonists in the play met together to watch a movie in the cinema. At that time, the screen of the movie was like this, in a house, a young man in pain , Scratching my head and ears, I thought it was a priest but actually the great poet Neruda said such a sentence, "I am in love, what should I do? Love is painful, but I want to continue to suffer. "I think I was deeply impressed by this scene, maybe not just because of this line, because in the following plot of "Romance Novel", the three heroes and heroines repeat this line again. In fact, in the movie "The Postman", the young Mario finds Neruda to talk about his confusion about feelings in his heart, and the scene of seeking help is not as strong as it is shown in "Romance Story", she is so quiet. , With a hint of restlessness, just like the lives of people in Sicily and the blue sea.
"I'm in love, what should I do? Love is painful, but I want to continue to suffer." Mario said to Neruda after first meeting the girl Atrich. Roughly speaking, the first love feels like this. Maybe you never felt it, never knew my name, but your smile, your figure, have been overwhelmed in my heart for a whole century. Mario is such a young man, who was born on this wonderful and cramped island. His ancestors have relied on fishing for generations, and the suffering of life made this young man's face a little stiff. He was clumsy but somewhat gentle. The fishing net was sad in his eyes. He often looked at the distance of the sea through the window of the house. He told his father that he wanted to go to London or New York, but he finally didn't go. His young and painful heart almost instantly reminded me of Gao Jialin, the writer Lu Yao's novel "Life" in the novel "Life" lying on the side of the Maiduo Mountain, where life is different. Young people. But the difference is that Gao Jialin is an intellectual with a powerful spiritual world, while Mario is just a gloomy young man who knows a few words on this small island. Had it not been for Neruda and the wonderful poems of Neruda, Mario might end up as an ordinary landscape under a sad fishing net like his father.
Neruda was the greatest poet in Peru in the last century and a supporter of communism. In 1948, he was wanted by Peruvian officials and was tossed and exiled to the land of Sicily. To some extent, Neruda is Mario's belief. Mario was interested in him at first because the poet was always accompanied by a group of girls who were loved and worn by many people. He felt very puzzled. Later, by chance, Mario became Neruda’s "private postman" again. With these questions he began to communicate with the poet Neruda, and he began to like to discuss with Neruda. And asking about poetry, and gradually the two became teachers and friends. Mario's young heart was gradually affected by his contact with poets and poetry. Those feelings and metaphors slowly weaved a wonderful world in his heart. And after Mario fell in love with Atrich, through asking for advice from Neruda, he finally won his heart through poetry.

The reason why I like this movie is not only the romantic love in it, because their love story accounts for very limited scores in this movie. What I like is such a complete story. What I like is the feeling she brings to me, sad and warm, just like poetry. Most of the scenes, most of the soundtrack, most of the dialogue are always pleasant and brisk, but we should not ignore the hardship and exploitation in their lives, and the fact that Mario died in the final turmoil of the movie , Don’t ignore that the poet Neruda was exiled on the other side far away from his homeland. Although the film does not try to portray these phenomena, it is often just an understatement. But these pains and darkness are real in the background of that era and the story of the movie. But the movie is as warm as the warm wind. She gives people hope. Although she can't bear to shatter in the end, the warmth she gives is long and true.

At the quarter of the end of the movie, at the wedding of Mario and Atrich, Neruda announced that he had been pardoned and could return to his home country. For Mario, this undoubtedly represents the collapse of a certain spiritual yearning. He lost his job as a "private postman", and gradually returned to the difficulties and struggles of life and ideals. He missed the days of being with Neruda so much, and began to doubt whether he had the potential to be a poet. He saw the poet interview in the newspaper, but he didn't see the poet think about Sicily except for the wonderful scenery and the unsophisticated people, such as his name. He waited for a letter from the poet, as if waiting for the return of his faith. He remembered that the poet once asked him to introduce the wonderful things in Sicily. He took the radio and walked around in Sicily, looking for wonderful sounds. No matter how difficult and chaotic life is, there is always the beauty we love. The voice recorded by Mario is like this.
"First, the sound of flowing sea water, softly; second, the sound of waves, loud; third, the sound of wind passing over the cliff; fourth, the sound of wind sliding across the bushes; fifth, the sound of father’s sad fishing nets; Sixth, the church bells; seventh, the star-filled sky on the island, I have never felt the sky so beautiful; eighth, the sound of my son's heartbeat.
When watching Mario and the post office owner collecting these sounds they were used to, my eye sockets were inexplicably moist. I always felt that beautiful things, no matter how small and obvious, are always worth collecting and recording. I always feel that when Mario is doing these things, he finds his own heart, so he firmly wants to do something, and he did it. At the workers' assembly, he was invited on stage to read his poems. But in the crowded crowd, before he came to the stage, he was suppressed by the government and passed away lightly. The white poem manuscript paper drifted among the black crowd. Although I didn't have time to recite, I thought Mario had no regrets, because he had come to the distance he had stared at the window sill. Neruda returned to Sicily four years later and heard Atrich talk about these things about Mario. It was as calm as the sound of the gently flowing sea. I believe his heart was already churning like ocean waves.

Finally, thank these actors in this movie. First, thank the actor of Neruda. He is just as warm and loving as his Efedor in "Paradise Cinema"; thanks to the actor of Mario, he is in I died of a heart attack in the 12th hour after the filming, thank him for bringing us such a wonderful swan song; thanks to Atrich's actor, her mind is as pure and beautiful as her face and body .
