This is a film about a group of non-mainstream, quiet but smart people in this society, or very smart and introverted people, who regard reading and knowledge as an important part of their lives...
so whether they are young Jesse is still the old Peter. They can't leave the university mentally. This is the only place where they can live comfortably and feed on the sparks of the exchange of thoughts.
He that increaseth knowledge, increaseth sorrow.
So this film tells a story about sorrow.
