Non-existent utopia

Anton is a doctor who travels between Denmark and refugee camps in Africa. The comparison between the two countries shows the theme of the movie "A better world." In Africa, Anton faces war all day long. , Death, poverty, wounded one after another. However, at the beginning of the film, the director used a large number of brightly colored shots to describe the vast land of Africa, innocent children, and simple people. Kindness and violence both appear in the same country, which is unavoidable. Anton upholds the professional ethics of doctors and tries his best to save every wounded person. When one day he will face the leader of the mob, a villain accused by thousands of people, he will heal him against the censure of the people. When his leg injury gradually recovered, he saw a female corpse who had been tortured by himself and had no treatment. He spoke a series of filthy words without sympathy. The doctor faced this extremely evil person and expelled him from the medical station. Even if he was beaten by angry people, the life of the mob would end in the hands of these people.

Facing such an evil and inhuman life, what should those rational and kind people do? When the good and evil in human nature collide, to which side will the balance in God's hand fall?

Back in Denmark, Anton faces a collapsing marriage and his son Elias who was bullied at school. He has been doing good, but he cannot stop the atrocities that happened to his son.

Chris, a boy who had just lost his mother, transferred to Elias’s school and was in the same class with Elias. Because of the death of his mother, Chris has always held a grudge against his father, and the relationship between father and son is very indifferent.

The cowardly Elias and the solitary, calm and resolute Chris became friends, and responded to the problem of being bullied by others in a violent way. Until one day when he witnessed Elias' father being bullied, an abnormal plan of revenge took root in his heart.

Whether in war-torn Africa or on a peaceful campus, disputes, discrimination, and contradictions between people exist in different forms. The world itself is not beautiful, and wherever you go, you have to face the conflict between ideals and reality, and the struggle between human nature and morality.

The vicious circle of violence is a worldwide problem. Can violence be curbed by violence? Is violence based on curbing violence a kind of goodness?

The lack of compassion is one of the reasons for the existence of violence. Angels and demons always appear at the same time, and a better world is just a utopia that people imagine.
