Unlike the explorers in The Descent, in this movie the expertise adventurers had plenty reasons to pathfind the cave: there'd been explorers dying in the cave before; frescos were worthy of money and historical value; the expertise adventurers were used to expediting unnamed plots.
Thus they went inside, with hi-tech equipments and plenty funds, even a cameraman to record their proceedings. It reminded me of the common life's impotence, with which I mean although human being usually are unaware of their powerlessness, the truth remains that they cannot resist the mightiness of their fate, destiny, or karma.
One exciting part for me is before going on an adventure, one prepares for propable occurences and conditions, figures out better solutions and hence becomes smarter, more "scrutinised" each time. Then, one is on the way with heart beating, drums playing tight , the ending unknown.
The weak points of this movie include but not limited to the follows:
it has not made the audiences fall in love with a peculiar character, in other words, it pays too much attention on the pathfinding and explorating mission, subsequently ignores the strengths of the human being, their inevitable will to live, and the turning point of hope;
concurrent with the former problem, the audiences who love adventure movies cannot find a faithful taste in this one and most probably become hateful of it, especially after watching through the pessimistic ending.
