The soul of the times, the British version of Lu Xun

When I saw the Anonymous poster, I immediately decided to watch this movie.
I have to say that this poster is so beautifully made. The picture of the poster is occupied by a domineering and leaky back figure. He is dressed in gorgeous aristocratic clothes, holding a feather pen in his hand, and ink stains are all around him. I was immediately conquered by this back lock, I can guess what a beautiful man this is without even seeing his face.
This poster embodies the characteristics of the movie, complex, gorgeous, and dark. This is not a legendary glorious story, but a tragedy about a genius. It is not very reasonable to say that Anonymous is the British version of Lu Xun. The reason for this analogy is that both of them have discovered the power of language and the incitement of language to the direction of revolution. It is a pity that Lu Xun succeeded despite the background of the era, but Anonymous was framed by a conspiracy. But the anonymous person conveyed to us the director's thought: all art is politically significant, otherwise it will become a mediocre work. A good work must know how to enlighten the masses of the people, especially a good comedy. At the beginning of the film, although the protagonist Johnson's comedy was very popular, it was also limited. It did not produce a sensation because of its effect. This is because, at the beginning, his works were only humorous satire, without thoughts and own will. (Edward: Voice? You have no voice! That`s why I choose you!) And Edward's works know how to incite the masses and enlighten the people, so they can have such a sensational effect. I don't know much about politics, let alone British history, so I won't elaborate on the conspiracy in the film.
Many people feel that this movie is very uneven due to the use of interlude, but my feeling is that the relationship between the characters and the plot of this movie are more complicated. Using such frequent switching will have a certain impact on the understanding of the plot, which is slightly messy.
It’s also worth mentioning that the Oxford Earl of Rhys Ifans is so beautiful. The look is so beautiful that I can’t hold it anymore. The aristocratic temperament and poetic temperament revealed in his every move makes people want to stop. The other two British niches are also beautiful. All in all, this complex and gorgeous classical shape is really in my taste!

  • Ben Jonson: Politics? My play has nothing to do with politics. I-i-i-it's just a simple comedy.

Earl of Oxford: It showed your betters as fools who'd go through life barely managing to get food from plate to mouth were it not for the cleverness of their servants. All art is political, Jonson, otherwise it would just be decoration. And all artists have something to say, otherwise they'd make shoes. And you are not a cobbler, are you Jonson.

  • Young Earl of Oxford: [after sword gets knocked into young Robert Cecil's chess game] You were losing anyway.

Boy Robert Cecil: [had been playing alone] I was also winning!
