The color is still the impeccable color of Ghibli, and I think this is the only thing that remains.
In terms of the shooting structure, it can be said that there is no center of gravity. The front part is too long, so that when I see the first half, I feel boring and want to go out of the movie theater. The climax part is not exciting and moving.
In terms of soundtracks, the previous episodes in Hayao Miyazaki's animations are generally purely composed of songs, and there are few singing voices. In this Ghibli film, there are rare singers to accompany them. However, when the singing of the last movie episode sounded, it was the voice of Aoi Tejima that moved me, not the heroine and the movie itself. Even when the heroine starts to speak, it affects the audience's feeling of listening to beautiful songs. This is also a failure. It is recommended that pure songs should be used in the movie.
Generally speaking, there is no aura of the previous Hayao Miyazaki cartoons, the feeling that can move people to the bone and the tension that is so wonderful that people can fall into it.
It is very difficult for a person's talents to be passed on from generation to generation. If it’s a business, it’s better to let the next generation work hard to learn management experience, and if the next generation works hard enough, a smooth transition may be achieved. But if it is something that needs inspiration like art, it is not so easy to do.
Art is very personal. Everyone has a different perception of art. No matter how strong Miyazaki Goro is in painting and animation techniques, the production and inspiration of animation may be different from Miyazaki’s ideas. If parents impose their own routines on their next generations, the final results will be somewhat distorted, and people who watch art will not be able to perceive the aura.
If they respect each other and allow them to develop their own artistic ideas and experience training, even if the works are not as sunny as Hayao Miyazaki, at least they have aura and are good works.
