Stupid big guy, old boy, true hero

Recently, I reported a news about a British banker turning into a superhero at night. I happened to watch "The Defender" last week. I originally thought this film was too unrealistic, but now I realize that many things cannot be casually concluded and said nothing is impossible. The reality is always Outside of imagination, who knows one day the idiot who talks about dreams will actually shine dreams into reality.
Could it be that the banker was affected by this film? He can also be regarded as a realistic version of the "Defendor". Regardless of whether the IQ is normal or not, the job is glorious, the livelihood is worry-free or failing, he and Arthur share the same belief and ideals, which is to fight crime, maintain justice, punish evil and promote good. This is the most meaningful thing for them. However, what Arthur is more admirable is that the banker has learned boxing anyway and can protect himself to a certain extent, but he only has weird equipment, what glass marbles, what wasps, and even disdains guns. It seemed to him that the guns were all cowards. In the face of vicious thieves, drug dealers, and gunmen, there are many dangers, and as weak as he is, it is no different from hitting a rock with a pebble. Especially when he is in the first block, he is a tendon and admits death. His body was severely injured, and he escaped several times. None of these could stop his footsteps. He firmly guarded his beliefs and ideals and did not hesitate to pay any price.
Unexpectedly, Woody Harrison, the nagging lunatic in "2012", became a fool in this film. He is also an alternative hero, unexpected but convincing. The so-called hero is not an alias, a title, or a status symbol, but an indomitable state of mind, a spiritual quality that sacrifices the individual to complete the greater self. His body does not need to be strong, his skills do not have to be agile, and his words and deeds do not have to be many. Gentleman, he doesn't have to be so high-minded, but he is still the greatest and most glorious person in the world. Arthur is such a real superhero. Although not so reliable on the surface, his honesty, toughness and stubbornness have changed people's incomprehension, ridicule and contempt for him. He stands proudly in the world, and finally Respected and admired by people. If there is a kind of person in the world who is the most brave, fearless, righteous, selfless, innocent, kind and harmless, then he is Arthur. He is not only a big boy, but also a fighter. He doesn't have the sophistication and flexibility he should be at his age, but he has a sense of justice and mission that most people don't. His motivation is so simple, his love is so clear, when he repeatedly asked "Am I doing something wrong?" I think his doubts are also our reflections. In many cases, there is only a fine line between right and wrong. The difference lies in the method, but also in consciousness and action.
Reality is not a comic. There are no knights who can perform 18 martial arts, and there is no omnipotent superman. In this age of self-reliance, no one believes in a savior, nor is they willing to be a savior, so probably only fools will let go. Having a good day, but often putting myself in a dangerous situation, even hovering on the edge of death. However, a harmonious society needs fools, and the general public needs fools. Because of the existence of fools, we will not be afraid of the dark night, chilling with human nature, and pessimistic about the future.
The ending was unexpectedly not designed to be a happy ending. Arthur failed to be surrounded by flowers and applause before his death, but to mourn and remembrance after his death. The so-called comedy has such an unconventional arrangement. The intention is at least two aspects: one is not to be too divorced from reality and reason. Although Arthur has interesting equipment, although he is smart enough to mark the way along the way for the police to follow, after all, a person is the first to take the lead. Guns, there is really no way to go if you go head-to-head; secondly, what the director wants Arthur to bring to people is more than just solving crimes and arresting people, as seen in the lively discussions of people on the radio and the scenes of people spontaneously gathering to give him a ride. In that way, Arthur melted the indifference that people were accustomed to, and injected a shot of a cardiotonic on their already numb body. What could be more lethal and shocking than death?
Regarding the injustice and darkness of society, complaining, verbal abuse, clamoring, and venting are useless. They can't change anything. The more frustrated and the harder they are, the more they must be more honest, live more actively, and strive harder. Fight more bravely. To maintain harmony and justice in the world, and to create a beautiful society and living environment, we can only rely on everyone thinking about others as much as a fool, thinking about themselves less, pursuing the realization of ideals more, and less pursuing the satisfaction of selfish desires. It is inevitable that people will die, but heroic spirit will not die. Heroic spirit is not ordinary, heroic spirit has hope. This is the enlightenment of Arthur's death.

Defendor: No. I write it myself.

Chuck Dooney: You know what? You need a good ghost writer. Somebody with talent.

Defendor: No. You need a ghost writer. 'Cause that's what you're going to be after I pulverize you.
