Perhaps the way of expression in a play is not new, and cross-montage has also been frequently used in various film works. From the perspective of the plot, the story of a wealthy mistress's affair has long been an old talk that makes people uninterested. On the surface, perhaps this can only be a movie that can only be attributed to mediocrity. No matter how charming the scenery in Spain and how sad the background music is, it can't save this movie from fire and water, making it a masterpiece. But Almodovar did a miracle in the last half an hour, continuing the plot when I repeatedly thought that the movie was about to end, until the last scene, my eyes were almost blushing. Only then understood his intention.

The blind film director finally found a copy of the film samples he shot in the past fourteen years. The heroine he loves has died in the car accident that year. The movie has also been cut beyond recognition because of the revenge of wealthy businessmen. He couldn't see it anymore, only recognized her voice. At the moment when he finished the final editing, the lover in the movie [Woman and Suitcase] gave a lifelike performance, just like yesterday. Her playful dialogue, exquisite figure, and the innocence of not knowing that the rush of time will bring her to the end. All mixed together and turned into a reunion. And sitting in front of the screen at the moment, it seems that he is already an old man.

How can this not make people sad.

Life is so short and so fast. The kiss of the actress played by Penelope before her death in the car freezes the last-minute appearance of the world into the shape of a lover. Her desperate love is as tough as a dead-end soldier. No one knew that a car was rushing in the distance, and the red light was flashing at the crossroads. The slow editing of the movie shows its extraordinary charm here.

The calming picture is like an oil painting washed by sea water, highlighting the disappearing beauty. Everything will die, but two people once stood so close, looking for eternity in a lonely foreign country on the beach. Perhaps it was destined at that time, and this is the age that Almodovar wants to lead us to reminisce about.
