Our discussion started from the part of unplanned game in the film. When Joe fell into an ice hole and fell into an awful prospect, he
chose one: move or stay
lame, no hope, loneliness, fear, pain, ideals, and youth. It's just not a part of the game plan. Climb up, fail. There may be hope, but there is no hope. Result: Decline in strength. Fight for hope in despair. The important thing is to move!
Climbing out of the ice cellar, although it is a miracle on earth, it is not enough to survive. You know how far to hope is on the road behind, but the distance is daunting. Do you have the courage to climb down?
Option 2: Move or stay
to reduce the size. Go forward firmly. The realization of every small goal is an important step on the road to success. Impossible tasks are created by little achievements. Human potential is limitless and will always find ways to realize it. move, move with confidence
When approaching the goal, but exhausted. Don't all the goals and hopes in the front exist?
Choice three: move or end here
try once more. The process that Joe has gone through is unbearable for ordinary people. It is really too hard, but I still have to say, try once more. Although it may not necessarily be successful, but do your best and obey the fate. try again
In the past, I always regarded failure too much, and felt that it was a matter of courage. Joe is respectable, you look back at his breakthrough, limping, climbing down the snow mountain, such courage is not admirable? In the future, through surgery, he once again realized his dream of climbing. What gave him so much support in his heart? I think it's a kind of "let go" mentality. I have no regrets about life. I don't account for gains or losses. As long as I take a step forward, no matter what the result is, even if there is only this step, it is a huge breakthrough in my life.
After watching the video. I'm also curious about Joe's experience of all this and his opinion on life. What is the meaning of life in his eyes? I believe he will live every day to the full. On his personal homepage I found the following brief introduction about him:
What has been the most memorable event in your life-Living.
Who are the people that you most admire and why-Comedians and people who laugh easily without pretensions or arrogance .
What do you consider to be your greatest achievement-Being happy, contented with my life, surrounded by good friends.
Likes-Anything that pleases me and does not hurt others.
Dislikes-Politicians-absolutely vile breed of self serving, dishonourable, corrupt, self aggrandising liars without a shred of integrity when their self-interest is threatened. Should all be put in a sack and drowned.
Ambitions-Live long and remain happy, wealthy and healthy... (fat chance!)
These few lines shocked me more than the movie. Get this is the true meaning of life? Life has no ultimate purpose. The purpose of life is to be happy every day and let everyone around you perceive this happiness. Face the challenge bravely. It is because of being able to live or be in front of your eyes and in the present that you can be fearless, because every day in the past has been perfect. The flower of life has bloomed to its fullest, no regrets, no regrets.
