But at that time, Mr. Jin Min's fame was indeed beyond the reach of today. At that time, we were only familiar with Hayao Miyazaki Otomo Katsuhiro and Oshii Mamoru. Hayao Miyazaki’s films were full of fairy tales and full of vivid tension. Otomo Katsuhiro’s films were meticulous in detail and the screens were amazing but the script had a kind of unspeakable rejection. Oshii Mamoru The theme of the film is heavy and close to realism and rich in thought. We can't comment on Jin Min yet, because we knew very little at that time. Kon Satoshi was born in Hokkaido on October 12, 1963. After entering Musashino Art University at the age of 19, he began to publish manga on "YOUNG MAGAZINE". In 1990, Kodansha released his first personal manga "The Return of the Sea" (*Note 1), and in the same year, he used the animation "Old Man Z" (*Note 2) supervised by Otomo Katsuhiro to set the role of art in the same year. Instead of performing, is it really necessary for the original artist and animators to draw it frame by frame? My answer to myself is that animation has an unparalleled innate advantage when it comes to expressing shots that cannot be taken in reality, but it can be artistically abstracted and processed at any time when expressing reality. Nowadays, movies and animations have gone from the earliest. Related to the current fusion of comics and comics, the boundaries are getting smaller and smaller. Many practitioners in the animation industry are also learning the use and editing of film lenses. Mr. Jin Min is a prominent representative of it. One of the outstanding features of the animation he supervised is magical realism. The "play in play" of "Perfect Blue" and "Millennium Actress", and the invasion of reality by fantasy in the TV work "The Delusion Agent" are all good examples. Why do I use water lilies as the title? Maybe many people can't think of why. But in fact, water lilies play a decisive role in this film. Chiyoko's life seems to have been blessed by gods and Buddhas. The experience of life is always accompanied by earthquakes. She was born with the Great Kanto Earthquake. The film tells the story of three Tokyo tramps, Jin, Ahua, and Miyuki, who accidentally picked up an abandoned baby girl. The three experienced countless coincidences and tribulations and finally found the birth parents for the baby girl. Many people commented that this film is Jin Min’s transition from magical realism to realism, but in fact this film still follows the director’s personal ideas, and has made fresh attempts to a considerable extent. There are countless coincidences in the story. And accident is an artistic treatment to highlight the drama.
To a certain extent, the film alludes to the reality of Japanese society, the lives and experiences of certain people at the bottom, with great humanistic caring spirit.
