The time went back to 1992, when Martel was having a fierce fight with an actress named Lena. Lena was very dependent on Martel in order to treat her elderly father. . Two years later, he arranged for Lena to play the lead role in a film "The Girl and the Suitcase". During the filming, the director Blank fell in love with Lena. Mattel felt that something was wrong and asked his children to monitor the private lives of Blank and Lena under the guise of shooting a documentary. The content recorded in the "documentary" was that Blank and Lena laughed at Martel behind their backs, and discovered the inside story of the two who had come together to deceive him into investing in the film. While watching the "documentary," he felt that his life was ruined. Up. But all the pity and sympathy for him was dispelled in the "documentary." In "Broken Embraces", the director derived a movie and a documentary from the memory part. Of course, they have not really existed, but their intention is naturally the reflection of the memory in the play and the memory.

Some movies are really not good after watching them, because the hidden meanings can't always surface all at once. However, "Broken Embrace" is not weird. If the first Almodovar movie you watched was "Broken Embraces", you wouldn't like him. The story is mediocre. To put it bluntly, it is part of the so-called "shadow" in the film and television industry. In a word, it is the fact that the director and the actor fall in love, and the actor defrauds the rich boyfriend of funds. Such a story is naturally not bizarre, but Lao Mo can express something else.

I used to be fascinated by Almodovar's films and marveled at the multi-faceted character he created, especially the women in the film. In "Broken Embraces", on the one hand, Lena cannot do without her wealthy boyfriend in order to treat her elderly father, on the other hand, she obeys her heart and falls in love with the director. Savour carefully, Almodovar’s film is still very interesting, especially the inner world of the characters in the fragments that penetrate the film, one by one. For example, Blanc’s wife also appeared in the film. After Blanc went blind, this wife took on a strong role; in memory, Blanc’s wife was in a weak role during his prime of life. Appeared in a very statusless manner. At this point, it can be seen that Almodovar’s intention is not to impress people with stories, but to seek a more esoteric narrative method. In fact, this is a bit like the intention of "The Diary of a Country Pastor", where reality and memory go hand in hand. The heart gradually exposed. I think this is what he meant by "broken".
