Write poems to the people who need it most

Mario fell in love with the most beautiful girl in town at first sight, and he knew that a little postman would not fall into the eyes of a girl. And the only way to get the girl's favor is the friendship between yourself and Yeruda, and naturally-poetry. At that time he didn't know how to write poems and didn't understand what metaphors were all about, so he said to the ready-made poet Yaruda: Can you help me write a poem for Ayatris?

Yeruda walked out of the house and looked at the sea, but flatly refused: I don't even know her, so I can't write.

Mario sat at the door of Yeruda's house, looking at the blue water, and said dumbly: Poetry is not for those who write, it should be given to those who need it most.

I think this sentence tells the theme of the whole movie.

The poet is his own, and even more popular. Especially for those who need him. Yeruda is such a poet. In Chile, he is regarded as a national treasure. This rarely happens to other people in other countries, and Yaruta has created such a myth. Because of his poems, he has transcended time and real space. Whether in Italy and Chile in the 1950s or in a lit room in a certain city in China in the 21st century, Yeruda is rippling in his poems.

Mario came up with this metaphor. He told Yeruda how he felt about reading poems: rippling in the waves of your poems.

Through this film, we can come to this conclusion: everyone has the possibility of becoming a poet. Perhaps it is not a poet who is represented by text symbols, but there are many forms of expression. Walking to the farthest place on the beach is a poem; listening to the muttering of the waves: yes, no, yes, no... it is a poem; distinguishing the veins of each leaf is a poem; loving someone wholeheartedly is the same It's a poem...

Mario said it well, the poet pays attention to nature. Therefore, poetry shows nature to people who have forgotten it, and finally falls on people, allowing individuals to feel the world more truly, reminding individuals to pay attention to those things that have never changed, such as freedom, such as love.

And these are gradually being forgotten in human society. Like the aunt in the movie. This chubby old woman definitely has the talent of a poet, but she looks more towards money. I have to admit that Yeruda also affected her. She accepted Mario.
Poets can bring the gospel to people, just like the Virgin they released. A poet is a person who steals the language of God.

The fishing net is sad, the Virgin is sad, and the poet is also sad. Mario's sadness is that "no one on this island can understand us", that the fishermen are "just exploited like this", and that they can't write good poems. But he was able to forgive him for the lack of news from Yaleda. This is not personality cult, this is sincere emotion. Only sincere emotions have great tolerance, and it is this tolerance that makes it possible to get close to others. The cult of personality is not like that. The cult of personality is only one-sided. At the moment when the idol collapses, unreliable feelings will also disappear, and even a 180-degree turn will occur. This has been proven in history.

I don't think anyone will worship a certain poet. The cult of personality is a trick of politicians, poets do not play tricks, poets only confide in their feelings. This feeling gives people who need it, and truly changes what they see and think. This is the power that this movie wants to convey.

Of course, we cannot omit the relationship between poets and politics. Whether it is Perth or North Island, they all know that truly great poetry is always inseparable from politics. And this relationship is often opposite. I don't understand politics, and I can't say that I understand poetry, but I can roughly and clearly feel that what poetry celebrates is exactly what politics tries to obliterate. So those who are dissatisfied with the existing politics will appeal to poets and poetry. This was the case in China in the late 1980s, Chile and Italy in the 1950s, and France in the Great Revolution.

I read a booklet called "Poems of the Paris Commune". Those poems are not so beautiful, but even today they still feel like a sharp knife or a torch. Regardless of the evaluation of the Great Revolution, these poems played a pivotal role in the Great Revolution. And Yeruda's situation in Chile is even more prominent. In the crowd, a Yaleda is more appealing than a whole government. This is the power of the poet. The reason why the poet has this power is because the poet says things that we can't say. He writes poetry to the people who need it most.

So we can understand that Mario became a communist because of Yeruda's poetry, and on behalf of the workers to recite his own poetry. This is a kind of inheritance, the inheritance of the spirit of poetry.

So, do we need poetry now?

There is no need to draw a conclusion, because the fact is that we don’t need poetry. Regarding this reality, I don't want to elaborate and pursue too much.

Poetry is needed on the small Italian island surrounded by the sea, at least Mario needs it. You know, there are always people in this world who need poetry, and these humble people have become special because of poetry. This huge country also needs poetry, but the public does not need it, and some individuals in the shadow of the public need it.

I like Yaruda's "I Like You Are Silent". In the film, Mario and Ayatris meet at the beach, Mario recites a line from this poem: I like this, I like you to be silent, as if you don't exist.

I like that you are silent in

Yeruda.

I like that you are silent, as if you disappeared.
You listen to me from a distance, but my voice cannot touch you,
as if your eyes have flew away
like a kiss, sealing you Your mouth is
like all things filled with my soul.
You emerge from all things, filled with my soul.
You are like my soul, a dream butterfly.
You are like the word melancholy.
I like you to be silent, as if you are far away. Going to
you sounds like sighing again, a butterfly wailing like a song.
You hear me from a distance. My voice cannot match you.
Let me be silent in your silence
and let me speak with you through your silence.
Your silence Bright as a lamp, as simple as a ring.
You are like the night, with silence and stars.
Your silence and the silence of stars, distant and bright.
I like you to be silent, as
far and sad as if you disappeared , as if you were dead
then , A word and a smile are enough
and I will feel happy because it is not true.

The content of the film is so fascinating that the technology in it is automatically ignored. But music can't. The theme song by the Italian composer Louis Bacalov has won the Oscar for best original film soundtrack, seven points melodious and three points sad. Like Mario’s eyes, like fishermen’s fishing nets, like Yeluda’s poems, like small islands surrounded by the sea.
