It is the Nature that Heals All

A few days ago, when I was learning English poetry, remember to read William Blake's sentence——

Never seek to tell thy love,
Love that never told can be.

After watching this movie in the afternoon, these two lines of poem suddenly collapsed in my mind, maybe May I make a footnote for the tension of this movie.

Annie and Robert's daughter Grace underwent a right leg amputation due to a horse-riding injury, and her love driver Pilgrim was also seriously injured and became grumpy. In order to restore her confidence in her daughter's life, Annie resolutely suspended her complicated work as the editor-in-chief of fashion magazines and drove Grace and Pilgrim to the town where Tom lived for treatment. Tom is the legendary horse whisperer. He is well versed in horses and can even understand the spiritual world of horses. So the story begins in how Tom helps Pilgrim recover.

There are many hidden lines outside the main line of the story—that is, Tom helping Pilgrim recover—and there are many contradictions implied from them: the contradiction between Annie and Grace; the contradiction between Annie and Robert; the contradiction between Annie and herself. These spears were all unlocked with the help of Tom deliberately or unintentionally.

So, a bit unconventional but reasonable, there was a spark between Tom and Annie.

He spent most of the day motionlessly comforting the horse that was frightened by the ringing of her mobile phone; when he led it by her side, he only left the next sentence indifferently: Next time please leave your phone else where.

She is not a stubborn business woman. Her heart is just spontaneously covered with a protective shell in the hustle and bustle of the city. She is not a woman who was born to say no coldly. She often went to see historical sites when she was 13 years old. When she was 12 years old, her father left her, almost desperate.

In the afterglow of the setting sun, he said that he and his wife fell in love at first sight in Chicago. She was stunned, Xu did not expect that he had a wife, Xu did not know that he had also lived in a big city. And she didn't know it, although she said that she couldn't enjoy this kind of pastoral life for a lifetime, the incompatibility between her and the countryside and nature was gradually diminishing.

He took her to ride a horse. For a long time, she hadn’t felt the feeling on horseback. From nervousness to comfort to blending into it, she sighed in front of the mountains and ravines: I envy your mother, I do. In a small surprise, she released the pressure for so many years: if she can live like his mother, she doesn’t need to figure out the boss’s mind every day, and she doesn’t use it as a messy decision. ... She laughed at herself: The more I want to fix the more it falls apart. He asked: Then why didn't you let it fall? She pondered for a long while: I can't

. There are too many things, not just put them away. For example, this feeling that has nowhere to rest except the deepest part of my heart.

The two danced together at a small village gathering. Is it the closest distance? Is it possible to walk the shortest distance? The restraint in the warm ambiguity, how can it be, please turn it into rice stalks and burn together in the blood. But...is it possible? Sad song to sing: I was just looking for a soft place to fall.

Go or stay? She cried and hugged him: Why did this happen? He also hugged her tightly: I don't ask those questions, Annie. And I didn't ask to love you, but I do. I'll always have that with me.

As he said to her before: I didnt' love her because it was right. I just loved her. He always dared to face the most beautiful and cruel truth in his heart.

While he was preparing the horse, she finally took Pilgrim, who was healed, and drove away. He looked at her who hadn't said goodbye, and suddenly smiled with relief.

Then she stopped and picked up the rope used by the two of them to play the game. She burst into tears.

How I hope she can go back to him and follow her awakened intimacy with nature and reality. But the melody of music became louder and louder, and the camera zoomed farther and farther, and Annie's car was getting smaller and smaller among the mountains-until the camera zoomed to the high slopes, and a man on horseback watched her leave silently.

He was finally with her, once again, forever, far away.

At that moment, my eyes burst into tears. Because apart, because that day on the slopes Annie said:

"It does not Matter Because at The All worries and All at The Wrong turns that you are Made Valuable and AS AS AS Cherished Things that you DID right."

This feeling, because This right choice becomes more precious.

Feel free. I can’t talk about comments. It’s the first time to post something in DOUBAN. Forgive me! :)

The Horse Whisperer quotes

  • Tom Booker: Is she going to be long?

Grace: Probably, she's on the phone 23 hours a day.

Tom Booker: What does she do?

    Grace: She's an editor.

    Tom Booker: An editor? Ah.

Grace: Just in case she hasn't told you, which she probably hasn't, I don't want to be a part of this. Okay?

  • Annie: I've never been on a cow farm before. It seems to me that the bulls have the best time. Just laying around the fields waiting for someone to come along and ask them to do their work.

Tom Booker: You get born a bull you have a 90% chance of being castrated. Served up as hamburger. So on balance, I reckon I'd choose bein' a cow.
