Devi is super invincible and lovable. Her bold and violent nature distinguishes her from ordinary American high school drama heroines. She can't help but want to know what tricks she is going to do. There is a bit of Bollywood-style humor, and a bit of American family cliché, but in fact, there are quite a lot of rather profound issues discussed, including the identity of immigrants.
