The story takes place in Southeast Asia in the 1970s. There are many white hippies here to pursue the ideal paradise. The protagonist Charles hates white people, thinking that they are stupid and unknowingly, just because they are superior in blood, so he wants to "punish" the white backpackers.
I have always been afraid of poor travel. Backpackers say that the walk-and-go trip sounds very romantic, but the natural and man-made risks are intertwined along the way, which really scares me. I don't even dare to watch this drama, but I still hope that those who are brave enough to set off can have dreams to chase and have a home to return.
I really like the background of the story. I often say that Thailand is my spiritual hometown. I like the sun, the sea, curry, tom yum and thai tea. The background in the 1970s was very real, and the street scenes of clothing were restored.
Watching Charles commit the crime, I can't help but profile him. He is a very cold-blooded killer, arrogant and conceited, he likes to do it himself, the method of committing crimes is simple, without the help of fancy tools. He targeted the same young white hippies, indicating that his past experience made him hate this category of people. He was ostracized by others and wanted to be the focus of the crowd, so he chose to live in Southeast Asia. Killing was a means for him to prove his ability.
