The film is adapted from the children's book of the same name by Kleishida Cowell. The director of the film, Chris Sanders, left the Disney Animation Department at the end of 2006 because of a disagreement with the producer of "Lightning Dog" John Lasseter on the creation of "Lightning Dog", and later switched to DreamWorks. This film is him. The first director's work in DreamWorks. The character setting of the toothless dragon in the film is partly inspired by 2002's "Interstellar Baby", and the director of this cartoon is "How to Train Your Dragon" director Chris Sanders. The film also produced seven Olympic-related short films during the Winter Olympics, showing the "Viking Winter Olympics" in the 11th century. This time, Jay Baruchel, who voiced Hikap’s voice for the first time, said: “I’m ten years older than the character dubbed in this animation, but I don’t think there is a generation gap with him. The character is actually a projection of everyone’s youth."
