It’s really rare to see such wonderful American dramas in the first episode. Sure enough, hbo produces nothing black.
The exquisite story structure does not show any procrastination, creating a tense and terrifying atmosphere and its excellence.
It can make the audience feel the pressure and tension of being chased by jc and monsters. The more people sweat for them, the more it shows the strong sense of substitution of this drama. And the excellent background music in the first episode makes the sense of substitution stronger.
By the way, the monologue in the middle is a recording of an interview with the famous black civil rights writer James Baldwin. Racial discrimination is also a hot topic nowadays, continuing the previous core concept of anti-racism in The Watcher.
All in all, the first episode of this show is amazing, and I look forward to the surprises that follow later episodes.
