But it is a pity that the director used a particularly ordinary film language to tell this story, so the good seedlings were buried. Storytellers don’t love stories, and even the best stories have no charm.
The eyes of the judges are also sharp. This film won the 2000 Cannes Film Festival for the best screenplay award, but the director award was not shortlisted.
Renée Zellweger also won the 2001 Golden Globe Award for Best Actress with this film.
