Survive in the wild

I have been thinking about how to describe the feeling after watching this movie.
I am not a fan of Xiao Li, even Xiao Li’s face powder. I couldn’t even see Gatsby at the beginning. I sighed that Xiao Li hadn’t been so handsome in a long time, and he was even a little uncomfortable with being so handsome. Of him. His spirit, his madness, and even his evil, are more enjoyable than the handsome.
When the stills of the Wilderness Hunter were in front of me, I didn't feel much about his appearance, as if he was born to be like this.
Undoubtedly, this is not the type I like. If it wasn't for Xiaolizi, to be precise, it wasn't for Xiaoli who finally ended that century with this work. I'm afraid I would hesitate to watch it. In terms of heavy taste, he is actually not as uncomfortable as the wolf of Wall Street. In fact, I can imagine that there will be some violent and bloody scenes in this film, and this film does not exceed my imagination. But when these shots were placed in front of my eyes, I still closed my eyes and still felt uncomfortable.

The context of the story is very simple. Xiao Lizi was injured by the bear and abandoned by the team. After all kinds of hardships, he survived tenaciously and succeeded in revenge. Although I don't know much about the inter-ethnic struggles in the northern part of the United States at that time, I don't understand my understanding of the content of this film. The theme of this film is still about survival, humanity, and contradiction and reconciliation between races. Every time Xiao Lizi dreams of the scenes of herself and his wife in her dreams, it is very sad and desolate, and she always expressly alludes to these themes.

As a biographical adaptation, the story cannot be said to be very exciting, the plot can actually be predicted in advance. But the rhythm is well controlled, and the shooting brought me a great shock. Some people commented that this is Xiao Lizi’s personal show. It was patted by a bear, a hole in his neck, a lame leg, his son was murdered, eating raw meat, drifting on ice, hiding in a horse’s carcass for warmth... It has evolved into all kinds of wild you can imagine. Survive. However, I don’t agree with this statement. This is obviously a personal show of the director and photographer. There are multiple angles to follow Xiao Li’s perspective. Some are magnificent, some are weird, some are gentle and some are bold, sometimes It was terribly jubilant and sometimes quiet and terrible. It can be said that the lack of plot is perfectly complemented by the rhythm configuration and shooting effect.

Of course, Xiao Lizi's performance is indeed worthy of the Oscar actor. Some of the previous films always gave me a feeling of excessive force. In the first half of the Wilderness Hunter, due to injuries on his body, he paid great attention to the details of his body shape. He performed a stubborn hunter who was on the verge of death and came alive very well.

This movie is excellent, but I shouldn't watch it again. The shock of certain shots will be remembered forever.
Congratulations and best wishes to DiCaprio Leonardo again! !

The Revenant quotes

  • John Fitzgerald: You all right there kid? Your head in the right place?

Bridger: I guess... I can't help thinking about whether we did the right...

John Fitzgerald: No! Ain't our place to wonder. The good Lord got us on a road whether we choose it or not.

John Fitzgerald: My pop, he weren't a religious man, you know? If you couldn't grow it, kill it, or eat it, he just plain old didn't believe in it, that was it. And this one time he head on up the old Saba hills... San Saba hills? He joined a couple Texas Ranger buddies of his to hunt you know? pretty routine, he done it like a hundred times before, should have been a three-day kill but, on the second day, it all went fucked. Somehow that night he lost his buddies, and to top it off, them Comanches went and took the horses so, he was starving and delirious... and he crawls up into this mott, this... this group of trees out in the middle of nowhere just sticking up in this ocean of scrub and he found religion. At that moment he told me... he found God. And it turns out that God... He's a squirrel. Yea. A big, old meaty one. "I found God" he used to say. "And while sitting there and basking in the glory and sublimity of mercy... I shot and ate that son of a bitch".

John Fitzgerald: Yeah. You might want to close your eyes kid.
