Before watching the film "Arthur", I felt that it should belong to the second category. The expectations were not too high, and I was even prepared for disappointment.
But when I look at it, I feel far better than expected.
The story of "Arthur" is actually not much new.
The combination of live action and animation was still new in the era of "Roger Rabbit", and now almost all the problems that need to be faced have been solved.
The shrinking characters take risks in the usual familiar environment, which is the theme of "My dear, I shrink the child".
The children’s world and the adult world are facing crises at the same time, relying on children to resolve the crisis to save the adult world. This is the main line that has appeared in a large number of children’s movies, because it is in line with the dream of children to be heroes.
As for a capable and distinguished female protagonist and an ordinary and more capable male protagonist, this is the great tradition of the "Star Wars" series.
Putting these elements together becomes "Arthur". In theory, there shouldn't be any surprises.
However, the success of "Arthur" lies in his characters and details.
Not only the main characters, Arthur and the princess are vividly portrayed, but also the supporting roles, Arthur's grandma, the king, the barkeeper, etc., are all very interesting.
And the character setting, I personally feel it is very cute. Arthur's freckles and dandelion hair are impressive.
The details in the movie are very rich and interesting. For example, the king’s mount, the bar record or something.
So the whole viewing process is very catchy and it is easy to enter the movie. I am very happy to watch.
The weakness of the movie is that his story structure is too simple. Although the details are rich and fun, but together, they did not tell a wonderful story.
Perhaps the target audience should be set as young children.
In addition, the Mandarin dubbing of this film is good. I was amused by dubbing once. And I guess if I look at the original sound, I might not understand the beauty of that passage.
IMDB scored 5.1 (613 people voted), I scored 7 points.
