Lord Miyazaki is too weak

I have watched a foreign TV movie about Earth Sea Legends broadcasted by the International Radio, and I have a little understanding of the story background of Earth Sea, but this TV movie is based on the first and second books, so I won’t mention it here. The story of Earth Sea is actually quite fascinating as a magical novel that is as famous as The Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia, but it seems to be a waste in the hands of Prince Miyazaki. No wonder the original author of The Legend of Earth Sea swears at her on her website. Before entering the venue, I didn't hold any expectations, because the online public commented on it, which has never been seen before. However, it is impossible to estimate that the result is worse than the unexpected expectation. It is really likes and dislikes.

After all, Prince Miyazaki was not born in the animation industry. It is very reluctant for a layman to be the director of this animation. The story development of this animation is like a rambling and collage. It is not very coherent and fragmented, and it is very loose. I have seen it for less than half an hour, and I feel that the days are like years. There are not many characters in the story, but even the relationship development or background explanation of this group of characters is lacking. Why does the protagonist Aaron feel uneasy and go to assassinate his father? When I met Sparrowhawks on the road, I felt in love with my father and son without asking a few words? All this makes it difficult for the audience to engage. I really don’t know if Miyazaki’s chapters in the book are directly converted to animations?

There are a few very abrupt plots that cannot be ignored. The first is that a drug dealer appears in the city for no reason. It has nothing to do with the previous plot. It seems to appear to promote anti-drug messages, which is simply terrifying. In another place, when Aaron rescued Tiru, Tiru made a fuss about Aaron not cherishing his own life. There was no explanation before and after, which was very inexplicable. The ending spider groaned like a Q version, making the audience laugh. The most abrupt is the scene of Delu's Song. It turned out that when I first heard the song of De Lu on the official website, I felt that the song was very beautiful and the lyrics also had profound meaning, but the appearance in the play was without reason and without any previous plot traction. It was purely that De Lu played it as if she wanted to sing. After the song of Tiro, it takes almost three minutes to sing a cappella. At this time, the crowd in the theater who had endured it for hours began to "boiling soda." What I expected from the official website, at this moment, I really want to watch this scene without watching it. If I only listen to the CD and add my own fantasy, I might still feel the taste of the song.

This film is only desirable, it can be regarded as the opening of the dragon wall painting and the setting of the two characters of Aaron (somewhat reminds of the life experience of Sparrowhawk), after watching this set of films will only make you want to look back to the original soon. In a nutshell, Mr. Miyazaki should go back to his old line. The Hayao Miyazaki Museum he stirred up is indeed very good. As for the animation, I will leave it to professionals. Did Hayao Miyazaki know that something went wrong this time and push himself as a target?

Since Studio Ghibli's Castle in the Sky, no male protagonist has looked good-looking. The biggest advantage of Earthsea Legend is that the male protagonist is good-looking. Others, it can only be said that the director is too young to take on a big role.

The explanation of the setting of "Shadow" is unclear, and Cob-Kumo's figurative treatment is really noncommittal... I am very fond of the original saying "reject death, give up living"...

Tales from Earthsea quotes

  • Cob: Anyone who gets in my way must die!

  • Cob: Eternal life...

Therru: [glowing] Shadow, return to darkness!
