The madness of loneliness and the sadness of encounter

Bart in this article is Cyborg.
His hands, feet, and everything in his body are all machines.
For him, all that is left is a small part of the brain
-and memories of a woman...

From 1995 to 2004, after more than 8 years of long years, he once again returned to the infinitely broad field of vision The online world, the police active in the shadow of the incident, and the tall figure with prosthetic eyes.
Going to see Innocence is completely out of plan. The scheduled schedule was ruined by the bad things that love to sleep in and daze. As a result of dangling on the streets of the bustling area, I saw a large Innocence poster outside the theater. Twenty minutes later, the show starts, 99 minutes of story.
The theaters are all designated seats, and the good locations have been sold out. The ticket seller asked me: Do you want the one on the side or in the middle of the front row?
middle.
The theater is on the sixth floor, very small. My seat is in the middle of the second row, directly below the big screen, where the speakers meet. The curtain spread out above the head, with a faint top light, the auditorium seemed to be swept over by an invisible sphere centered on the screen, the lower the body is, the more you move forward, the line is already full of brushes. Swipe down and lie down.
Then, the movie begins.

The usual practice of Japanese movies is that there will be several related introductions, new films of the same film company, or related productions before the film opens. This time is no exception. The first advertisement is the game of "Ghost in the Shell", 3D, PS2. Personally, I don’t like 3D games. I always feel that when the characters become 3D, they lose their sense of story beyond reality in 2D. This is also true when you look at the introduction screen of this game. Fortunately, it was the original SAC staff who dubbed the game. The introduction of the game fell to the ground with Suzi, and Bart shouted: "Suzi~~~" at the end, feeling still full of courage and laughed.

The next two trailers I didn't expect at all, Katsuhiro Otomo's "STEAM BOY" and GHIBLI's new film, Witch's Forest. Otomo Katsuhiro continued his usual style, and he painted the prosperous machines of the nineteenth century without any romantic atmosphere. Obviously there are scenes of heroes saving the beauty, but what eats the audience's nerves is still slightly old and complicated. The Witch’s Forest is not like GHIBLI’s previous style. The graphic design of the screen is extremely heavy and the colors are plated. When I saw the poster in the CD shop before, I almost thought it was a European cartoon.
What follows is the new theater version of Conan and the preview of the theater version of Crayon Shin-chan's Western Life. This kind of imprecise painting style really cannot be seen on a big screen... It feels completely rough, the lines are too thick, the colors are too flat... But the contrast between the film introduced and the atmosphere of this film is really too great. So that the moment when Xiaoxin's title appeared, everyone in the theater was laughing.
Having said that, even Innocence doesn't look particularly delicate on such a large screen. But the sound and the courage of the big picture... I still like to watch it in the cinema^^

When the trailer is playing, the yellow top light in the front row of the theater is still on. As soon as the five trailers were over, the lights went out silently.
A line of words was typed on the black screen:
"This film is about to begin."

The moment was really silent, so silent that you could hear the unnatural breathing. Everyone who will watch this film at this time — I think, there is no fashion in the first scene, no one is absent-mindedly eating, no one does not arrive and sit before the opening — is really looking forward to this story.
The screen was completely black, and then the night view of the city appeared in front of you.

This is not the first time I watched Oshii Mamoru's film, but I have never noticed it before. It was not until I really sat in the theater that I really found that Oshii liked to use a bird's eye view when describing it. Helicopters hovering in the sky, the roofs of high-rise buildings, the reflection seen from directly above the water. If you look directly at the screen, you will feel that your line of sight is tilted; but if you lie directly under the screen, you will feel that the picture is so big, as if the entire city has been crushed down. In the introduction film, airplanes with bird wings flew over huge buildings, abandoned factories in the Far East, Chinese style festivals on the streets, big dolls, and cloud shadows projected on the water in front of the buildings. It is undoubtedly showing off CG. Although I know this, I am under such a scene, the weight and oppression of the huge city on my head, and the real illusion that the color will pour down at any time, so strong that I am afraid.
But the most amazing thing is not here, but from the angle of looking up to the sky and looking up completely, the brilliant blue crystal bird bones are hung hugely and brilliantly above the head. The light that shines through the bird's bones is a cold, clear and transparent blue, and the sunlight cascading down from the high patio is a decadent, gloomy, faint golden color.
Putting aside all other scenes, the person who designed this scene, I want to say that he is a genius.
Oshii's use of perspective is indeed very interesting. The first imaginary reality, the bird bones in the patio, looked up; the second imaginary reality, the headless angel in the patio, also looked up; the third imaginary reality, an ordinary seagull in the patio, but It looked down from the patio, as if a seagull was alive, looking down with his own eyes. Suddenly I remembered the scene of Suzi looking down from the top of the building in the game, and the scene of Suzi overlooking the city in the animation. I couldn't help but imagine what kind of vision this angle would bring.
"...The Internet is infinitely vast, where am I going?" The
same scene, when the plane leaves the ground at night, I saw the light spreading out on the dark ground like a spider web, gradually moving away, like Androw The shape of Moda's surface seems to be an infinite cyberspace.
The Internet is infinitely vast, where am I going?

Before watching this film, I was ready to be depressed. Because when watching GIS, the scene where Motozi was so hard that his arm muscles fell off, and a bullet hit the World Tree scene, circling around in his mind and then circling, as if he had been cursed. And Oshii said: "I will never allow an idyllic protagonist. The current protagonist is absolutely required to hold a more painful theme..." A
wry smile, really bad supervision.
At the beginning of the film, there is an atmosphere of cloud and rain. For the time being, no matter what color Oshii likes, and what gorgeous visual effects the faint yellow sea surface of the dusk scene has, the whole film does not give a scene that makes people feel bright. In the night city, Bart scanned the green, rain, dimly lit sea surface, and closed factory with not bright lights in his field of vision. Oshii intends to completely suppress the mood of the audience, from the beginning to the end.

I read the text in the cloud a few days ago and saw this dialogue:
"Bart's eyes..."
"Can the bottle cap see the eyes." He
smiled. The protagonist of Innocence is Bart. From start to finish, there is no major change in expression. Most of the time, he has such a poker face. When you are angry, the lines on your face are only slightly concentrated, and when you smile, you can barely see the corners of your mouth. Such Bart is alive, desperate, and on the verge of madness. I can’t tell which action or sentence in the film gave me such an impression, but the Bart I saw barely maintained his life with the dog, tense in front of his colleagues, emptiness, despair and helplessness. It seems to be... looking for an exit like crazy. At the beginning, he drove a large car, and Bart was slow, silent, stubborn, and cherished words like gold; Bart stared at a familiar figure in Ms. Haraway’s office; while Ishikawa drove him home Because a word about Moko turns into Bart of the Rock Hedgehog; he swept around in the underworld office and smiled triumphantly at Togusa, whose jaw was about to fall, and said "I have avoided it as much as possible." Bart always felt that There is an expression of deliberately raising the curtain, seeking some kind of support, or seeking destruction.
Who can say that Bart knowingly violated the order and went to the Hongchen Society to make a big fight, didn't he think that it would be good if he died?
Buy dog food on the way home, make dog food after get off work, and hold the dog's ears carefully when feeding the dog to avoid soiling. Bart is a very gentle person, as he was in Ghost in the Shell, and he is still the same in Innocence. In 1995, Motozi stared at herself reflected in the water in the sea, puzzled by everything she perceives. After Mo Zi came to the surface, Bart knew what to ask just by looking at his expression. This delicateness has remained the same. But it may also be this kind of care and gentleness. After losing the element, the lost space cannot be filled, so gentleness becomes torture.

If... If Bart keeps such a gloomy face, walking on the edge of collapse, looking for the portrait in the forest, I think I will like this film in the end, rather than be moved by it. At the end, the screen turned black and Junko Ito's singing sounded. The moment I suddenly understood the lyrics, my feelings moved slightly and sadness poured in.

Follow me (わたしと一緒にきてくれ)

smiled before watching the film and said: Why do I want to watch the stuff of my sister. So as soon as I heard that there were elements, I really ran to see it. Suzi Suzi, Ghost of Ghost in the Shell, no matter how the world changes, it is still her. Just like what a friend said, there is no good way to tell Bart’s story, so how do you tell it? Innocence's story is complete because of the appearance of Mozi, and therefore it is completely a tragedy.
The water surface, Western-style buildings, and a splendid patio. Large swarms of seagulls flew up on the dim sea. The pale doll came down like rain. On the sky bridge, under the shining light of the top, the two people created a perfect circular fighting space. Then, turn around and point the muzzle at the opponent's head at the same time.
The scene freezes.
At that time, I was probably the only one sighing in the entire theater. But I have to admit that this "long-distance reunion" approach is indeed very suitable for Bart and Suzi. Not a lover, not a brother, but someone who could once give his back to the other person, who has a deeper understanding than words and body movements. Then left without any contact.
I smiled bitterly there alone, it really is Wu's set.
The tone of the film begins to change from the moment the audience understands the emergence of "Elements". The pace of the battle, the way of proceeding, the straightforwardness of the commands, and the presentation of intelligence immediately switched to a simple and neat manner. Everyone followed Bart's mood of crawling and crawling in the mud, and suddenly jumped onto the dry and hard ground.

The biggest change is Bart's expression.
It's still a poker face and bottle cap eyes, but everything has changed from tone to body language. Bart, who puts a vest on Suzi's naked puppet body, his violent guard and the musty temperament of three years in the rainy season, all ran away from the sky. Once met in Ghost in the Shell, and the person most like Ribat in Chapter 25 of the Stand Alone Complex is superimposed on this face. At that time, I was happy to see and felt the saddest one, Bart guarding the element of entering the system. There is no dialogue and the scene does not switch. In the rain of bullets, Suzi stood silently, Bart knelt on the ground, shooting, changing clips, and shooting leisurely, without any sense of tension.
Only one word came to mind: knight.
A traditional knight who dedicates his honor and life to someone and feels joy and glory for fighting for the other at all costs. At this moment, Bart is the best portrayal of this card.
I saw Oshii's interview earlier, but it was only in the end that I could understand Oshii's "cruel" perception of Moko.
"Bart, remember. Whenever you are connected to the Internet, I will be by your side.
"Then, I'm leaving. "
What we like is this kind of element.
For Barthes, this is also the most deadly cruel.
The footsteps that can never be followed, the figure that can never be caught. There is no even the idea of grasping.
In . In "The Garden of Iron Swords", Tianyuzuo meditates: The ancient kingdom has disappeared. How can we survive for the races created for protection? What
he pursues is just like the icon in the forest.

(2) Music in

terms of music .

Regarding OST, the teahouse has already given a detailed introduction. Pop music has never been my strong point, so I won't talk about it. I have a slight criticism of Innocence's screenwriter, but I am completely impeccable with the music. Laughing is also another way of fever for voice fetishism.
The first themed music appears at the moment when the doll commits suicide, the story enters the main story, and the subtitles begin to be played, interspersed with fragments of the doll's formation. I once thought that Innocence might follow the GIS format, but I didn't expect it to follow this point. Sure enough, a large group of deja vu female voices rushed at the beginning. It makes people stunned-should this be laziness or persistence-
the continuation of the same theme is the selective Chinese sacrifice, the oblique perspective, the big head doll and the idol. The crowds on both sides of the street, wearing ghost masks, are not popular. When Bart and Togusa walked around the alley to arrest people to torture information, the background music disappeared completely. Then, without warning, the camera cut back to the festival, and the music of the blockbuster suddenly rose like a cliff, pressing it straight over.
Once again dumbfounded, the music is really stressful.

Except for the three songs of "Puppet Ballad", the other BGM is not very obvious. The focus of the film is still on the plot and presentation. But to put it bluntly, the puppet rumors are just anesthetics, stimulating, charming, and beautiful, making people unable to extricate themselves. It is the song "Follow me" that can really circulate in my heart. The film ends less than two minutes after the separation of Sozi and Bart. The list of staff members lined up on the black curtain was typed out, and it was this song that sounded leisurely.

Follow me (わたしと一緒にきてくれ)

was shocked because of the appearance of Moko, and felt happy because of Bart’s emotional change, and the parting that ended before he could feel it. At this moment, sadness began to slowly ooze out.
This song, deliberately wanted to provoke tears.
After watching the movie, there is no direct elevator, so I can only take the escalator downstairs. The fifth floor is a video store. I went in with the intention of calming my mind. As a result, I entered a large poster, a broken doll, and the first line of Follow me's lyrics appeared.
Tears came up all of a sudden, and then, feeling the sadness in my heart like regurgitation, wave after wave came over.
Damn video store.
Standing in the corner of the audition for nearly an hour, after listening to almost all the interesting songs in the OST, I finally returned to the real world.

(3) Mixed feelings

I always give priority to lines when I look at things. One is because my computer screen is small, and the other is because I often drive the dish while listening and doing things, so I naturally like movies with good lines.
Innocence, personally feel that it is inferior to Ghost in the Shell. On the one hand, there are more lines, less tension in the plot, and some clips are suspected of purely buying CG. On the other hand, unlike Shirou's original script, Innocence is almost entirely Oshii's own script, borrowing the shell of "Ghost" to express his views, so it is inevitable to bring a taste of preaching. The GIS of 1995 was Oshii's GIS, but the original is undoubtedly Shiro's. The fusion of the two created a pinnacle of work. And Innocence is entirely Oshii's work, if you insist, it will be more like Avalon. Oshii is a genius in adapting scripts, but he said bluntly that the scripts written by him are always blunt.

After watching the film, I raised my ears to listen to the reaction of the Japanese. It was generally difficult, but it looked good. The audience at the time was mainly students and young people who had just started work, and very few people over 30 years old. Taking these factors into account, the evaluation given will be quite different from the industry. I have thought about the relationship between humans and robots, and there are quite a few views that are consistent with Oshii, so the purely narrative parts are very kind to me. But if you don't understand this issue deeply, Haraway's preaching and Kim's long talk will definitely make people doze off.

Since 1998, I have been following the situation of cartoons, the people who first wrote deep reviews and led the trend of animation in China, the data freaks who have been collecting information, and some similar people, I have always felt that they are small circles. And the wider animation circle just feels "good-looking". It is the same in Japan. The prevalence of animation magazines and the emergence of a large number of animation manga that are not of high quality are to fill time and to entertain. Innocence has received attention because of the influence of GIS, especially in Europe and America, as well as the unlimited attention of the industry. But in fact, only 60% of this film is made for phenomena, and at least 40% is made for OTAKU. If I'm just a "watcher", I think that after I come out of the theater, I will remember those gorgeous scenes and Moko's appearance, but I will definitely not remember the flow of the whole film, or remember so many details. .

Shiro is Shiro's Ghost in the Shell. This fan's circle is very strong. It seems that people who have watched "Blade" either don't like it or they will support Maugham very firmly. Oshii is the circle of Oshii. People who have seen GIS may not necessarily like the original Ghost in the Shell, and may not even know much about it. At this point, Kamiyama’s SAC is much better than Oshii, at least much better.
Combining the advantages of Oshii and Shirou, there is always only that GIS, Innocence is a much duller film than it. Whether it is the fluency of the story, the visibility, the strength of the analysis, and the acceptability, including the music, including the characterization. Although GIS has brought us a huge impact under the technical environment of 1995, Innocence has not been so far apart from other films in the current animation technology environment, which will have an impact on the perception, but like "2001 "Roaming in Space", like "Lawrence of Arabia", no matter how the technology, the shocking things are always there.

The views of my Japanese colleagues, I think they represent the Japanese thoughts.
He said: "I really want to see Innocence, because I heard it is excellent. But I have not seen GIS, I am worried that I will not understand." And
: "It is good to know that you are going to see Innocence; I know that you are going to the GHIBLI Art Museum , I realized that you really like cartoons; in the end, you even collected all the short stories of Otomo Keyang. I said, are you OTAKU?"
My answer is: "Even if you have seen GIS, if you don't really have a certain understanding of sci-fi settings, and have a certain understanding of robots and human discourse, it will still be gorgeous, dull, and incomprehensible."

  • Lin: We got loyalty even in my line.

Bateau: There's loyalty that protects secrets and loyalty that projects the truth. You cannot serve both masters, so which loyalty is yours?

  • Bateau: Still with me, pal?

Togusa: [with his head between his hands, looking to the floor] All I could see... were my wife and daughter's faces.

Bateau: That wasn't your wife or daughter. It was Death.
