A beautiful film

When the movie ended, the two old white-haired ladies who had chartered with me slowly got up and left, but I didn't move. One is that the bus hasn't come yet, and the other is that I'm so ugly crying that I can't walk under the lights.

I thought for a long time how to describe this movie: "beautiful". It's really a beautiful film, beautiful in every frame, beautiful scenes, characters' lines, rhythm, love and friendship, and his and her eyes. Appreciating such a story is like appreciating painting, music, and poetry.

It is understandable that some people will find it unsightly. It is not a fierce movie, with no ups and downs and no tears. But just under this calm and subtlety, those turbulent emotions buried in language, rhythm, stories, friendship, and love. It is so strong as if his heart and blood are beating in your chest and running in your veins.

When I was young, I found biopics boring, but now I am gradually unable to extricate myself from it. It's like traveling through time and space belief experience, one soul touches the echo of another soul.

Nizi's eyes are so good, I sink.

Little Tolkien’s actors were chosen so well, are they really not related by blood? When he grows up, he will be exactly like Nizi...

Brotherhood is better described than love. Every scene of TCBS makes me want to cry, it's so beautiful, so beautiful.

British boys are the treasure of all mankind.

It's a World War I history film. I personally don't know anything about Tolkien and didn't have any expectations for the movie. The British description of the First World War is really sad, and while watching the movie, I think of Robert Graves' memoirs of the rest of his life, which is really uncomfortable. Since Tolkien's hallucinations when looking for Jeffrey, it has been very tear-jerking, and I have been sobbing and watching. Thinking about it like this, it seems that the emotional sustenance in the first and second half is detached, and love and friendship do not want to talk about only one. I think the friendship part of the story is really good.

I don't know about Tolkien's experience and I just watched the British Airways movie without English subtitles. I feel that the narrative and cutting of the movie are a bit problematic. I want to talk about friendship and love, but there is no focus. It's down...it depends on Nizi's face to see from the beginning to the end

Tolkien quotes

  • Hilary Tolkien: Remember how mother made us kiss the trees?

J.R.R. Tolkien: And listen to them talk.

Hilary Tolkien: What dark magic was that?

  • John Tolkien Jnr. (Child): What's it about?

J.R.R. Tolkien: It's about journeys. Adventures. Magic, of course. Treasure. And love. It's about all kinds of things, really. It's hard to say. I suppose - I suppose it's about quests, to a certain extent. The journeys we take to prove ourselves. About courage. Fellowship. It's about fellowship. Friendship.
