After watching "Hamlet" directed and performed by Kenneth Branagh, the four-hour length is not so much a movie as it is a stage play. The scene at the graveyard is like a stage play.
Hamlet, played by Kenneth, is a crazy, full of anger, but he is not restrained by reason and reality at all times. The inner desire for revenge and the impossibility of the outer reality conditions create the image of this hesitant prince. The death of the father and the rapid remarriage of his mother created a sense of emptiness in Hamlet's heart, and learning the true face of the enemy through the ghost of the father is the real reason for Hamlet's madness. I think it’s madness, but I still think it’s a bit inappropriate. The madness on the outside is just a manifestation of my inner dryness, longing for revenge and comforting the spirit of the king. However, in reality, I can’t find the true evidence of my uncle’s murder of my father. I can only listen to it. The secret words with ghosts are nothing but crazy words in the eyes of others. This tragedy of revenge is precisely linked with Hamlet's madness. Therefore, Hamlet can only arrange for a group of actors to perform a play in the play, so that people can discover the hidden conscience in his uncle's heart and report his uncle's murderous crimes. This is the beauty of the play in the play.
In the end, Hamlet and Ophelia's brother duel was also quite interesting. Ophelia's brother Oslik is like a low-profile version of Hamlet. He also hurriedly returned to China when he learned that his father had been killed while studying abroad. He was also eager for revenge. However, the difference is that Oslick, who is eager for revenge, followed the treacherous king's way, which led to the tragedy. In the end, Oslick and Hamlet completed their understanding, and the prince completed his revenge. But the cunning uncle killed the queen, one of his power-grabbing purposes, and so many more sins on his back. The only thing that awaits him is the harsh punishment from hell.
This tragedy is a tragedy of the times. Because of this, the fall of Hamlet, who has a star-like heart of gold, is particularly regrettable. In the play, Fordingbras said, "Because if he had ascended the throne, he must be a wise monarch." The first and final order of a wise monarch was to order Britain to execute two treacherous villains. Hamlet's tragedy is also a tragedy of anachronism. Hamlet's life has taken a sharp turn since his father was killed. To be or not to be is destined to be a tragedy since it was put forward. This era does not allow a heart that shines like gold. All we can do is to be like Horasch, as a Danish, but with the spirit of an ancient Roman, to tell this golden heart through the story.
