I decided to watch this movie because of a video essay and waited until the cold Sunday night.
The name of the movie is very straightforward, and the plot is similar to the banned movie "I Spit Your Grave." The three men gathered in the desert as usual, preparing for the annual hunting activity. But this year, one of the handsome guys brought the mistress to come with him. The girl is glamorous and sexy, and her figure is hot, making the other two covetous. The next morning, one of them could not hold back and took the opportunity to rape, but the man remained indifferent and even pushed the girl off the cliff in an attempt to destroy the "evidence." Finally opened the road of confrontation between hunting and hunting.
The story of this movie is simple, but the perspectives of both men and women are quite interesting. Perhaps for many straight men, the girl who dressed coquettishly and danced hot must be a bitch that everyone could play with, so the guy friends became angry when they heard that the other party didn't feel the other way around, and directly threatened them with force. And the man who once hugged her intimately can put her to death at any time in order to preserve her marriage and her reputation. Therefore, no matter how beautiful the girl is, it is also a vase and a beautiful apple. After eating and using it, it can be discarded without any waves.
It's just that there are too many variables hidden in the vast desert, so men who think they are strong with guns in their hands think that they can destroy the corpses as they want. So the tug of war between prey and hunting began. As the seriously injured prey side, the girl took advantage of the scattered actions of the three to defeat each, seizing weapons and locomotives and becoming a hunter, but she was constantly in danger because of her unfamiliarity with weapons and insufficient force. In the end, she finally killed three people and successfully escaped from the desert.
There are some unreasonable bugs in the plot of the movie, but for me, this is a rough sketch that cult movies can accept. And I really love the sharp photography and rich content editing of this movie.
At the beginning, the vast desert shrank into the male protagonist's brilliant sunglasses, and the girl next to her was frivolously eating lollipops. One red and one yellow fill the field of vision, yellow is the boundless desolation, red is the infinite temptation. The girl's red lips and red short skirt are as bright and vibrant as Eve's apple, which makes people unable to help but conquer the pursuit.
But the apple that was tempted to bite began to oxidize and decay, and the sweetness and tenderness became fleeting. When the girl was seriously injured, she was put on a black layer of revenge. The black rifle, the bloodstains all over her body mixed with the mud after rubbing and rolling, and the eagle pattern imprinted on her belly, she suppressed her panic in her heart, only the muzzle crosshair aimed at revenge.
The desert is like a desolate and depressing space. Men think that weak women are ants, which can be easily trampled to death and destroyed. However, they did not find that in this dull and hot space, all creatures have the same weight and face each other. In the face of life and death challenges, only one struggle can survive.
Drops of blood hit the ground, and the ants struggled to break free from the heat that fell from the sky. At this time, red was the most brilliant blood and the most wanton revenge. So she could endure the pain, dig traps like a fox, and squeeze the trigger like a wolf facing the speeding jeep.
At the end, the life and death battle between the hero and the heroine in the corridor is very arresting. From the noisy TV to the silent ambush, a gunshot sounded, splashing blood on the ground. Then they chased and killed each other, constantly changing offense and defense, in the winding corridors, only running and aiming, until the final blow killed the opponent, leaving a wall full of blood.
The bright yellow of this movie is somewhat reminiscent of Fury Road. "Revenge" uses three colors of red, yellow and black to unify the opposition between the environmental characters and the atmosphere, and uses editing to highlight the ups and downs of the hunting process, and amplify the sense of confrontation and conflict in the limited characters.
So "Revenge" is a cult film with distinctive characteristics that I like. Because who makes me like surprises mixed with surprises? !
