I have read the book by Crazy Rich Asians a long time ago, and I feel that the plot and characters are a bit plain, not very attractive to me. Rom-com is not my favorite movie genre. There are two reasons for it. One is that I think it should support the all-Chinese cast, and the Nanyang old money described in the book is very desirable. I want to see how the director is visual On show.
After watching it, I found that the whole movie is still very pleasant to me. From the very beginning, the melody of He Rijun is coming again, to the song of Vava in the middle car, people who have been in the United States for seven years will still feel a little bit crying and wanting to laugh at this moment. The scenes are also beautiful. The book spends three or four pages describing how magnificent a room is. Maybe there is only one shot in the movie, but it still shows the style of old money.
The storyline is basically in line with the original, very plain, and in my opinion, it is only a passing level in rom-com. What really supports this movie, and what really surprises me is that there are so many familiar faces in Casri.
