"Schrodinger's Cat" is the best way to open this film

Schrödinger’s cat theory must be known to everyone, so I won’t repeat it here.

In the beginning, the three pig's feet were not aware of the existence of the photo. At that time, they were only the objects of observation ("cats"). Once they see the photos, they not only become "observers" but also observers of their own "experimental results." According to theory, after the experimental results are observed, the superposition of the original multiple possibilities immediately collapses into the only ending (that is, the scene seen in front of you—the scene in the photo).

According to the foreseeable future setting of this film, the three pig's feet should be the observer first and the observed object behind. In other words, look at the photo first, and then change back to the observed "cat" after 24 hours (compared to the photo posing). It has nothing to do with changing the future or the past, it has nothing to do with fatalism. The director and screenwriter are both "scientifically correct" and effortless to deal with it this way.

But the photo sent to the female doctor could have been a big article. First of all, there is no one in the scene, which is equivalent to that the "cat" is not there. On what basis, the pig's feet must be judged dead, not other people, such as gang members or even police Joe. Secondly, before the female doctor came, the pig's feet had never been aware of the existence of this photo, which was equivalent to not observing the result. Therefore, the ending implies a superposition of multiple possibilities.

Imagine that if the female doctor encounters an accident on the way here, the three pig's feet will not see this picture in the end, then there will be other possibilities.....................

Time Lapse quotes

  • Callie: [reading from Bezzerides' journal] I know the rule of time and causality is that one should not attempt to change the future. But under these circumstances, it seems to be a risk worth taking. If I believed in God, I would pray today that no greater harm will come from what I am about to do.

  • Jasper: Don't fuck with time.
