Boston Strong

The tear point has been too low recently, and I can't cry too much. I remember when I went to Boston in 13 years, someone told me about Boston Strong, and I was still asking what it meant. I was ignorant enough.

Jake Gyllenhaal played so well. When he was surrounded by reporters in the rehabilitation center, he was awkward to the camera with his thumbs up. Under the spotlight of the stadium, he waved the flag in response to the shouts of the audience with a frightened expression on his face.

Jeff is just an ordinary person. He doesn't want to be a hero. He is not Boston Strong. He is a disabled person and victim who can't even wipe his ass after shit. He rejected all media activities at first because he didn't want to recall the worst day in his life over and over again. But after meeting Carlos, he realized that there is more pain in life than losing his legs, and sharing his own experience can really help these desperate people.

He overcame the fear of memories, found the motivation for life, and took the initiative to let more people see himself. He was sublimated to the real Boston Strong.

What Traumatic Syndrome Needs Is Real Strength

Breaking the usual inspirational film routine, it is a very positive and interesting film, and there is a funny driving scene in it. Lao Ji's acting skills are really good. He portrays the character's forbearance and the pretended toughness in front of his family very well, but in the end, to be honest, it's a pretty mediocre movie.

  • Jeff Bauman: [voice over] And now it's just about healing, getting better, and showing the world I'm fine and that, you know. I'm not gonna let this hold me down, you know, because maybe if they see that, then maybe they won't let stuff hold them down, either. And, you know, there's always gonna be pain, I think, but, I don't know, I just wanna, like... live.

  • Jeff Bauman: [to Carlos who is pushing his wheelchair on the way to make the throw in at Fenway Park] A hero and his hero, right?
