In my opinion, the X-Men has two plot needs. The first is the initial mission of Wolverine after returning to the past: to rescue Magneto. The purpose of this task is: Only Magneto can persuade the magic girl to give up assassinating the little devil.
In fact, neither Professor X nor Wolverine, after having been in contact with Magneto for so many years, could not propose such a stupid task. Because Magneto can only choose the opposite way to solve this matter, which runs counter to Professor X's expectations.
As the plot developed afterwards, the task of persuading the Devilish Girl completely fell on the young Professor X alone. I want to say that this is obviously the most appropriate way to solve the problem. Why did you think of such an unreliable strategy to rescue Magneto? Should the young Professor X persuade the Devil Girl to be simple, or should Wolverine persuade Magneto to be simple? Obviously the former is simpler, right? Give up the easy but ask for the hard.
In fact, this is a plot need. The audience saw Professor X and Magneto falling in love and killing each other. If he didn't come out, the scene would be unsightly. But this reason is really not very reasonable.
The second place was on the future line. When the sentry was about to attack and the team members proposed to retreat, the elderly Professor X refused, saying that Wolverine must continue to stay in the past because the problem has not been resolved.
This is also very strange. Wolverine’s mission, to put it bluntly, is to bring a letter to inform the young Professor X so that they can prepare early and prevent things from happening. In fact, it is enough. Wolverine continues to stay there without much meaning.
Even if the young Professor X at the time was very decadent and immature, and needed Wolverine's guidance, then before the sentry came, Wolverine had completed his mission. By allowing the young Professor X to enter the consciousness of Wolverine, the young Professor X completed the communication with the old Professor X, and the young Professor X was completely cheered up and independently completed the task of finding the magic girl and persuading the magic girl.
I really don't see any reason for Wolverine to stay in the past.
The most amazing thing is that the director seems to think so too. So in the final battle, Wolverine was thrown out by Magneto...
Alas, I knew this earlier. After Wolverine completed the task of letting the young Professor X communicate with the old Professor X, he quickly returned to the future, and then everyone retreated together and escaped the chase of the sentinel. Wouldn't it be better?
Of course, if you edit this way, you won’t have the excitement and tension of the last-minute rescue...
In short, the two plots need to be too obvious, and I wanted to complain when I watched it...
============ =================================================
I I think it’s a trivial design to reverse the event point in the future. Magneto moved the entire stadium to the edge of the White House, and premeditated the murder of the president and the entire cabinet. Isn't such a serious act comparable to the devil's killing of the little devil, and it is more likely to arouse people's suspicion about mutants? The government suspended the entire sentinel plan just because the witch did not kill the little devil. I can only say that Nixon's heart was too broad, but you almost got caught by the mutants?

I imagine that the interaction between the future and the past should actually be closer. In fact, Wolverine’s mission is really not just a simple task of delivering news. The director can obviously use his special ability to design more interesting plots.
For example, a situation I conceived is that Wolverine can be used as a network to realize instant communication between the future and the past.
How to do it? As written in the movie, the young Professor X can enter Wolverine’s consciousness so that he can see the future. The elderly Professor X can also enter Wolverine's consciousness, and the two Professor X can complete communication in Wolverine's consciousness.
But more importantly, Professor X's ability can also transmit his own consciousness to other people's brains, just as Professor X did to the magical girl in the film. If through Wolverine, the old Professor X transfers consciousness into the mind of the old Magneto, and the young Professor X transfers the consciousness into the mind of the young Magneto, then the two Magnetos in the future and the past can also communicate in real time. .
In this case, the whole story is more volatile. The story can be edited like this: The Sentinel Project almost wiped out the mutants, and the future Professor X and Magneto joined forces to go back to the past and find out what caused this to happen. The immortal body of Wolverine can serve as a bridge between the future and the consciousness of the past. Everything Wolverine did in the past will simultaneously affect the future, and the future Professor X and Magneto can use Wolverine’s consciousness to feed back the changes that have occurred to the past Professor X and Magneto. Out of strategic adjustments.
In this way, will the interaction between the past and the past become more interesting in the future? And the reason why Magneto must be rescued and Wolverine must stay in the past, is it more reasonable and more sufficient?
