"Drunken Master 2" by Liu Jialiang (2005.08), Reivew on The Legend of Drunken Master

As far as the field of comedy action movies is concerned, most people think it was created by Jackie Chan. In fact, before Jackie Chan became famous, Liu Jialiang's films such as "The Whip" can already see many elements of the comedy action films that later dominated most of the movie world. However, it is undeniable that Jackie Chan is indeed the master of comedy action movies.
Although "Drunk Fist 2" is directed by Liu Jialiang, its style is still in the same line as "Drunk Fist" directed by Yuan Heping. The action designs of the two are all aimed at Jackie Chan, and the difference is not very big. In Hong Kong, it is generally believed that Liu Jialiang's actions are "Southern faction", while Yuan Heping's actions are "Northern faction". But I think this is more about their pedigree, rather than the style of their action design. Liu Jialiang and Yuan Heping still have many references to each other in the design of comedy actions.
In terms of personal perception, I think "Drunken Master 2" is not inferior to "Drunken Master", but "Drunken Master" has a little preconceived opportunity and has a greater classic significance.
