Tone

At the beginning of The Skeleton Twins, Kristen Wiig was holding a pile of pills in his hand. He was about to swallow them and left, but received a call from a distant hospital telling her that his twin, Bill Hader, had just attempted suicide. The ingenious combination of seriousness and black humor in this scene is the epitome of the tone of the whole scene. The reason why the film is great is that the director has a good grasp of the tone, the characters have many shortcomings, the main story line is very dark, but the whole film has a lot of laughs, which is rare. So, if I couldn't think of a good title, I wrote a tone directly.

The movie is about the twins who have not been in contact for 10 years, and they are living together again after both committing suicide. They are very depressed about their non-stop whirlpool life, and only find a way out after they are exposed to each other.

Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig are not particularly eye-catching people. If you find this independent film and read film reviews with great interest, it is probably because you are a fan of Saturday Night Live. If not, it is recommended to find Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig's sketches online immediately.

Because I am a loyal SNL audience, Hader and Wiig's performance in this movie surprised me. The two are considered the most exaggerated and the most exaggerated in SNL, and their comedy performances are rough, bold and absurd. But I didn't expect that in this movie, they could be so calm and restrained, and they could perform this kind of role completely, which proved once again that many good comedians are good dramatic actors.

However, what makes me most enjoyable is a fake singing scene in the movie. Hader and Wiig, especially sister Wiig, still show a certain expression in SNL that I am familiar with.

Recommend everyone to see. very nice.

Milo Dean: You're not a whore.

    Maggie Dean: [interrupts] Oh, really?

Milo Dean: [continues] So don't say that, please.

Maggie Dean: What would you call it, then?

Milo Dean: You're a restless housewife with whore like tendencies.

    [Maggie chuckles]

  • Milo Dean: Do you love him?

Maggie Dean: Yeah, I do. He's... he's good.

Milo Dean: Maybe good isn't your thing.
