47 Ronin-a messy hodgepodge film

Universal Pictures, Keanu Reeves, Ryoko Kikuchi and other powerful Japanese actors, a well-known historical story in Japan, and 225 million U.S. dollars are mixed together. What can be made? The answer is: a super lousy movie from the box office to the word of mouth.
A bad movie is not destined to be a bad movie. At least no one wants to make a movie that is so bad that it even loses its underwear and has to vomit three liters of blood. Unfortunately, "47 Ronin" is one of them. Even the investors couldn't stand it anymore in the later stage of production and fired the director.
"47 Ronin" was obviously ambitious at the beginning of filming. It tried to retell a Japanese classic in a Hollywood way, and even reshaped the image of a Japanese samurai. It intends to merge things and create something with universal value. This ambition is very bold and extremely risky. Because it is very likely that the two parties will not please, and the results have also verified this point. This film was first released in Japan, and the box office in the first week was less than 1.2 million U.S. dollars.
This film made many unbelievable mistakes. For example, the 50-year-old Lao Ji played the role of a young adult, and there was no effective makeup or post-processing. The beard and wrinkled Lao Ji appeared to do some flexible fighting moves. For example, the extremely eye-catching Internet celebrity skeleton boy on the poster only appeared in the movie for a few seconds, which was obviously fraudulent; for example, the 47th wave people were misled by false information to sneak attacks and were ambushed, and they escaped without fighting. Carrying a big fat man who accidentally hit an arrow; the last night attack of the film should be a big climax and should be nine deaths, but it looks like 47 Ronin surrounded Kira’s mansion and so on... Maybe the biggest mistake is Universal Pictures The industry hired a director who had only filmed commercials before!
This film is full of countless plots set up for the next step of the plot development, such as the inexplicable love between Kui and Miss Asano, Kui somehow lost the game in the duel, and Kui and Dashi took it back from the yellow robe monk with great pains. Of so many swords, it seems that only Kui’s is handy...
There is also a very interesting plot. Kui and Dashi go to Huangpao monk to "borrow the sword" and come to a weird hall. Kui wants to go to the small hall and let Dashi stay here temporarily, telling him "No sword can be drawn at all." Dashi saw the illusion that his comrades were killed one after another, panicked, but did not draw his sword. This plot is very strange, because the historical story of "47 Ronin" itself promotes loyalty, so if Dashi believes what he saw is true, he should draw his sword and live and die with his companions. This is loyalty; if he does not believe What I saw is true, so why are you still panicking?
In short, this is a very failed film. It does not correctly understand the meaning of the story. It also bluntly inserts an old beauty that cannot logically explain his appearance. Except for Ryoko Kikuchi, the film has almost no human story image. It is relatively complete and logical. It is too trying to please all parties, and the story is fragmented, the clues are chaotic, and there is no focus. In the end, there are only some special effects that are better than nothing and the distinctive Japanese traditional costumes. It makes people remember that this is a story based on a certain Japanese history. The subject is a story with a magical color, nothing more.

They all speak English, which is very uncomfortable to hear.

To popularize the spirit of Japanese Bushido to the old beauty, it's just a white face as the protagonist. It's awkward to look at it. Rinko Kikuchi successfully overshadowed the protagonist, seductive and sexy, and became the only highlight of the film.
