Life is better because of sex

The subject matter of the film's story is very special. How can a person who can't move his whole body have a real sexual experience. Coupled with real-life adaptations, these two points are attractive enough.

All men are created equal. Sex too. As a disabled person, Mark O'Brien is the same. The biggest highlight of the film is the psychological portrayal of the characters. Mark O’Brien and Schell’s mental journey are very delicate. From the beginning of the fear of sex to the end, Schell’s care is taken care of. Instructed to the end of the complicated mood of hurriedly ending the treatment in order to avoid empathy.

It feels like Helen shows a very reluctant application while smiling in the nude scene, perhaps because of her own expression. Helen Hunt is the naked (excessive) actress in the movie after Meg Ryan. But Helen Hunt's courage is commendable, so the film was nominated for Oscar.

In addition, the emotional rhythm and plot turning points of the film are well handled. Naturally and smoothly. The whole film is simple and touching.

Because of Schell, a sex mentor, Mark O'Brien turned from a boy to a man, and his life was perfected and fulfilled. Even if he finally left, there is no regret.

Sex is beautiful and great. Goodness lies in changing a person, and greatness lies in changing a person's life.

The Sessions quotes

  • Mark O'Brien: What happens when...?

    Cheryl: What happens when what?

Mark O'Brien: When people become attached to each other.

    Cheryl: What people?

    Mark O'Brien: Just people.

Mark O'Brien: What's the chemistry in it all? When people are attracted to each other.

Cheryl: Are you attracted to me?

    Mark O'Brien: God, no.

    Cheryl: Ha-ha-ha.

Mark O'Brien: I'm just talking hypothetically.

Cheryl: Hypothetically... they write poems. They have sex.

Mark O'Brien: And what happens next?

Cheryl: After poetry and sex? Nothing or everything. The rest is by negotiation, as it were.

Mark O'Brien: What do you mean?

Cheryl: I mean, you can leave it at love and attraction... or you can make things complicated, like most people do.

    Mark O'Brien: Have you?

    Cheryl: Yes.

  • Cheryl: Hi Mark O'Brien!

Mark O'Brien: Your money is on the desk over there.

Cheryl: Yes it is! Thank you!

Mark O'Brien: I didn't know whether to pay you now or after.

Cheryl: I'm not a prostitute, so you don't have to pay me up front.

Mark O'Brien: That was the wrong way to start off.

Cheryl: It really was! Shall we start again?
