Michael Moore vs Capitalism

Actually, I am a fan of Uncle Moore. I watched his previous films with gusto. However, from "Bowling for Columbine" (2002), "Fahrenheit 9/11" (2004), "Sicko" (2007) to this "Capitalism: A Love Story", I must admit that the uncle Jiang Lang is exhausted.

Uncle's kind of irony with a sense of humor (let me call it comical satire), I used to like it very much. This time, he tried to make a comical satire again, but I don’t know if I’m tired of it, or the uncle’s level is not enough this time, the humor is so cold, and the irony doesn’t have the same direct heart and lung power as before.

Maybe older and more experienced will be able to have a clear mind and make objective judgments on things. My uncle’s works are too extreme, sensational and provocative in my opinion, and the logic is chaotic and they take themselves too much. thing. There are some scenes in this film where he forcibly interviewed but failed, which made me a little bit jealous. Perhaps, as pointed out by some Douyou, the uncle has chosen a grand topic this time, which is really "many arm as a car".

Michael Moore is full of self-examination and critical spirit, which may be better than the average American, but as a filmmaker, his standard seems to have not improved. Hopefully this film is not the lowest point of his film career.

Next time I see a new work by Michael Moore, I will carefully consider whether or not to watch it.

Capitalism: A Love Story quotes

  • Michael Moore: You know, I can't really do this anymore, unless those of you who are watching this in the theater want to join me. I hope you will. And please... speed it up.

  • Michael Moore: [Regarding the February, 2009 crash of Continental flight 3407 in Buffalo, New York] No one survived the crash, and 50 people lost their lives. The Media focused on the actions of the pilots.

Continental air crash reporter: Capt. Marvin Renslow and First Officer Shaw were chatting about their careers.

Michael Moore: "Careers" is a euphemism for what the pilots were really talking about: how little they were paid, and how overworked they were. There would be no discussion in the Media about why we have an economic system that allows a pilot to be paid less than a manager at Taco Bell.
