The most recent adventure was the just-released "Friends With Kids" (Friends With Kids). Fortunately, my worries were basically eliminated at the beginning of the movie, and there was a book on the actor's bedside table, "The God Delusion" (The God Delusion). Good book, its author Richard Dawkings (Richard Dawkings) is known as the most famous atheist in the world. There are several places where books are shown in the movie, and I basically read what they read, including "Cod: A Biography of the Fish That Changed the World". However, I quickly discovered that what the hero saw was just an illusion. Apart from the few books I read, there was no overlap between me and the characters in the movie. They are white-collar workers in New York, and they can afford to live in high-end apartments in Manhattan. They eat a $100 dish when their friends gather for dinner. Their profession is not shown in the movie, but it is obvious that they are successful professionals. They have not been affected by the economic crisis or financial turmoil, and they do not have to occupy Wall Street. After 10 minutes of hesitation, the main storyline of the movie became clear, and I finally decided to watch it seriously. "Old Friends Have Joy" discusses a relatively new topic, which basically transcends sex and love, but takes a big step forward: When there is no love, can you have a child?
The protagonist Jason and the heroine Julie have witnessed the encounters of two pairs of friends. After a couple had children, their lives fell into chaos. Another couple once burned so passionately that they didn't even miss the waiting time before eating. They wanted to hide in the restroom of the restaurant and play short and flat games. After a few years of marriage, the two felt long even if their eyes crossed for a few seconds. In order to prevent the romance from evaporating, some people choose not to marry, and some people choose to marry but don't want children. Jason and Julie decide not to even love but want a child. Julie doesn't care about spending time looking for romance, but eugenics have the most suitable age. Jason may not be where her true love lies, but being a child's father is enough.
They have always been platonic friends, and they didn't go to bed together until they decided to join forces to have a child and share the responsibility of raising them. The essence of this behavior is not so much sex, as it is a special way of artificial insemination. We all know that the general artificial insemination process does not require the direct involvement of the man. It is particularly difficult to complete this process naturally. They must use Apple computers to watch pornographic movies to add to the fun, and at the same time put all kinds of alcohol on the coffee table, including wine and whiskey. There is no beer, I think it is because there is too much water, it is inconvenient after drinking. Most of the dramatic conflicts and comedy materials in movies come from the unique situation formed after the child is born. Except for their closest friends and family members, it is difficult for them to explain their relationship to the outside world, especially when they are interacting with the opposite sex. In the movie, there is a scene where Jason meets a Broadway dancer played by Megan Fox in the park. He is pushing the child in the stroller while she is walking the dog. In this situation, no matter how handsome and easy Jason is, it is difficult for Fox to fall in love at first sight, because at first sight she saw a young father with a baby.
"Are you going to attract me with a child?" the character of Fox asked.
Jason emphasized that he is a free man and unmarried, but this can only arouse more doubts.
"You are not married, you are not gay, you have children... so you are in a divorce situation?" Fox asked.
Jason said that he had never been married.
"Then you pregnant a Catholic girl?"
Fox’s speculation is fully in line with the state of American society. Jason and Julie have created a rare case. Julie’s starring Jennifer Westfeldt is also the screenwriter and director of this movie. It cannot be said that she is not creative. The design of several scenes in the film has both dramatic tension and comedic effect, especially the part where everyone has dinner together when they go to the ski resort together. However, the flaw of this film is also that the audience is too easy to foresee. To the result: the two changed from having to watch pornographic movies to not having to watch pornographic movies. The beginning of the story is unusual, but the end is too boring. Although there is no romantic feeling between the husband and wife, everyone has to stay together for the children. This is the normal state of life. How can it be possible to have children and continue to be friends? In addition, this movie once again verified my impression that the female director has always had the courage to make a fuss about sex. The jokes designed by Westfeldt often revolve around the degree of swelling of the breastfeeding system. In the movie, the changes in certain organs of women after childbirth directly make a fuss about the romantic life. At the end of the film, the confession of the two parties also appeared unusual. The test that Jason and Julie went through was longer than that of developing new anti-cancer drugs, and more difficult than running a marathon. So the hard-won true feelings can only be expressed in dirty words?
