Let me just talk about some of the mistakes I made about this movie after studying the history of Greek philosophy.

First, it is wrong to say that the Battle of Wenquan Pass was the first Bosnian War, and Sparta was not the first Greek city-state to rise up against the tyranny of Persia. Since the Persian king Cyrus captured Lydia, the powerful kingdom of Asia Minor in 546 BC, the Greek city-states in Asia Minor have been under Persian rule, such as the Greek Ionian region where the great philosopher Heraclitus was born. Love Sophie was under the rule of the kings of Persia (Cyrus, Cambis, Darius I, and Xerxes I in the movie). In 500 BC, Miletus, the city-state where the earliest Greek philosopher Thales was born, took the lead in launching a rebellion against Persia, but it was eventually suppressed by Persia. King Darius of Persia fought Greece twice in 492 and 490 BC, and was defeated by the Greek people led by Athens in the Marathon campaign. The Battle of Wenquan Pass mentioned in the movie was one of the battles of the Greek League led by Sparta and Athens in 480 BC to defeat the Persian king Xerxes.

Second, there were far more than 300 Spartans in the Battle of Wenquan Pass. 300 That was the guard of Onidas, King of Risparta. The Spartans also brought 700 servants to take care of the logistics. As usual, the Spartans did not count these auxiliary personnel. The total number of the Greek coalition is 7,000. In the end, in addition to Sparta, there are more than 1,100 people who voluntarily sever. In fact, he lost the Battle of Wenquanguan even when the time and place were favorable and the people were all occupied. It was entirely because Onidas was misplaced and outflanked.

Third, why did the Persian cavalry troops in the movie never break through the Spartan infantry phalanx? Spartan is of great manpower, but how can it be possible to fight the impact of the riding formation with flesh and blood? The reason is very simple, because Westerners have always used collars to guard horses. Two horses can only pull 500 kilograms. A fast horse will suffocate. It is hard to imagine the speed and impact of this kind of driving technique. How strong will it be. Before the invention of horseshoes, horse bits and spurs, the cavalry was not the main force of war in Europe for a long time. The Macedonian phalanx and the Roman phalanx are popular. This is the reason why fierce men like "Spartan" are rampant.

Fourth, the Spartans were shot without any equipment in the movie, almost half-naked, showing off their pectoral and abdominal muscles. Don't doubt, this is entirely for the director to serve female audiences. In fact, the armor of Sparta is still very good. Although it is indeed very small compared to the whole of Greece, it is far from the half-naked level in the movie. Basically, only two arms are exposed on the upper body, and only two on the lower body. All the thighs are protected by armor elsewhere.

Fifth, the Persians are not nomads, and they are not barbaric. At that time, Persia was in the period of the Achaemenid Empire, the first Persian Empire, and was a strong enemy of Greece. As mentioned earlier, both Darius and Xerxes wanted to invade Greece, but they were unsuccessful. In fact, according to the record of Diogenes Larsius, Darius, the Persian king, once warmly invited Heraclitus, the Sophie philosopher under his rule, to teach Greek culture in Persia, but Heraclitus refused. Because Heraclitus supported his fellow Greeks against Greece. And Darius did not do anything to Heraclitus. Xerxes, Darius's son, shouldn't be so terrible, looking completely like a monster in the movie.

Well, it's over. I'm fine for fun, not a movie review, don't scold me.
