This movie was shot in 1969, but we watched this movie more than 30 years later, and still feel that this movie is not out of date, especially at the end of the movie, the scenes of mini cars racing and chasing each other on the streets of Italian cities, it’s really cool. Words! (Look at the car chase scenes filmed in Hollywood movies now, and it doesn’t necessarily bring too much freshness.)
Watching Michael Caine use an unquestionable tone to direct his men in the movie. The rabble of this group of people is really amazing. He was indeed a traditional screen tough guy and a guy with the charm of the cream nip.
It has always been said that the British are a group of staid and boring guys, but in British films, they have always been happy to express their very special sense of humor. Needless to say, the subversive ending of Michael Caine struggling to rescue the gold hanging on the edge of the cliff, the warden boss who celebrated the victory with the staff in the prison is enough for us to laugh!
If there are shortcomings in this movie, it is that Michael Caine's obviously mob crews seem to be too many. Except for Dr. Simon, played by Benny Hill, none of them can impress the viewers. This is obviously unreasonable for the film structure.
