It's us who are being played

"Fun Game" is obviously not an interesting movie for the audience.
Is this a black humor?
Or is this an interesting work by the director?
Compared with many violent shocking movies, this movie is actually not so direct to the blood. Instead, it uses the middle lens, the cover of the furniture and the sound prompts to reflect the progress of the plot sideways, and the content is supplemented by the audience's imagination. Similarly, this technique is also used in portraying the emotions and struggles of the characters. It extends the distance between the audience and the scene, reduces the impact of the stimulating picture on the audience, but stimulates more imagination. This kind of photography makes me feel quite clever.
But I believe that many people, including me, will find it more on the pins and needles than many movies full of blood and meat.
The two young men were dressed in white clothes and casual and comfortable shorts and shoes. They wore white gloves and they were gentle. But when they want you to enter a terrifying "game," you can't say no, and you can't win.
When the audience thought that the clever little boy would bring a turn for the better, he was blown up, full of blood on the wall;
when the audience thought that the male host whose knee was broken can bring some kind of miracle of struggle, he too He was blown up-in fact, he suffered the most in the movie: he was smashed to the knee by a club, beaten, stabbed with a knife, and finally shot at close range by a rifle.
When the audience thought that the stubborn hostess played by the heroine of "King Kong" would have a ray of life after hard work, she was pushed into the water with a relaxed movement, and she was indulged ever since.
During the whole process, the murderer was calm and intact, only soiled his white gloves. They knocked on the door of the next villa: borrowing eggs.
Even when the audience rejoiced that one of the fat-faced murderers was captured by the hostess and shot and killed, another young man used the back button of the remote control to change the plot. Cheng-the hostess failed to grab the gun, and the fat face that was shot off by a single shot was also safe and sound.
At this time, the audience was stunned: the remote control! What is this stuff! I can’t help but check my computer to see if there is something wrong with the function of my player.
But the plot is like this, and the rules are in the hands of the two young men. Even if the "player" loses the dealer for a while, the dealer can go back and start again. But players can't. The player's fate is to die after being abused in various ways.
So, when this movie is here, it is obvious that it is not telling a story but playing a game, a game between the director and the audience. The audience has been wondering where the turning point is and how the characters will be saved, but they are ridiculed-there will be no turning point at all, and all the previous hopes are ridiculous.
Near the end of the film, the dialogue between the two murderers on the sailing boat revealed some kind of information, which seemed to reveal another intention of the director. The translation of the version I read is rather bad, so I won’t repeat it in the original text. I suggest you to figure it out for yourself, which is more interesting.

Finally, I would like to say that the tragedy of the protagonist's family can be viewed from another angle. The heroine's survival spirit can be described as strong and tough, even being ridiculed by the killer as the "Olympic" spirit. But her personal struggle and even the family's efforts can not change the destiny, let alone provide any help to a family that is about to be victimized. Just like the neighbours who were killed before the protagonist's family, they gave up their best chance to ask for help when they were hijacked. If they can all call for help when their neighbors show up, then even if their family cannot be saved, the next victim family can be protected from the poison.
I am not advocating that people should be self-sacrificing heroes, but in society, people's interests are often linked and common. Involvement in self-protection may bring about the destruction of the entire group. In the world of private self, everyone is an island that cannot be redeemed.

  • Paul: So, what do you want to do? You want to call someone? An ambulance, or the police? I won't stop you. Neither will Tom. Right, Tom? Well, what are you waiting for?

  • Paul: Okay, let's play another game. It's a guessing game.

[Paul takes out a golf ball]

    Paul: What is this?

[Paul drops the ball on the floor]

    Paul: [to George] Sir?

    George: It's a golf ball.

Paul: Correct! It's a *golf* ball... But why do I have it in my pocket? Hm? The lady knows why. Because... Well?

    [Paul, exasperated, turns to Peter]

    Paul: Well?

Peter: Because you didn't hit it.

Paul: Correct! Because I didn't hit it! And *why* didn't I hit it?

    Peter: Because something stopped you.

Paul: Correct. Because I had to test the club in another way.

Anna: [realizing what has happened] Where is he?
