Buck, have the life I want to live

As a passer-by movie viewer passing through the Douyin clip, I have never read the original, and I am watching it as a new film. The words cute pet, positive energy, and fetters gave me a good initial impression of it. After watching the film, the only feeling is that the peak of the dog's life is nothing but this. Buck is a lucky dog and a big guy who works very hard.

Although, most people have an impression of loyalty to dogs, just like my highest belief in life "Hachiko". But Buck in the film did not follow the usual route, and had three masters. But in the end, I prefer to call them partners rather than owners and pets.

In the judge's house, Buck's mischievous personality was vividly expressed. The servants heard the sound of Buck running towards the kitchen, and immediately put the rich lunch in the cupboard, instead of berating it to forbid it to come in. And when the host saw Buck, he was only indulging in a whisper to him. Today is an important ceremony, so you can't make trouble. Although, in the end Buck still messed up the dinner and was shut out by the owner. However, he still clearly knows Buck's position in the house, and I can feel everyone's pampering and affection for him.

The naughty Buck is like a kid who often does bad things, and occasional troubles bring unimaginable bad luck. The dog dealer used the food to trick Buck away, took him away from his warm home, and threw him into the real world.

Although Buck, who had just entered society, was severely beaten by dog dealers, he was lucky enough to meet his second owner. And Buck has also changed from a pet dog to a working dog because of a new identity-a sled dog. In the process of identity conversion, Buck also changed from being at a loss and being isolated by the group to a leader with a sense of mission. And when Buck accepted the owner's collar and ran across the vast snowy field with his legs spread out, the black wolf hiding in his experience was better than the leisurely years of food and clothing. Possibly, it is really only in the endless snow that Buck can really be himself, out of nature, out of primitive.

Born as a human, I am very confused, I don't know my value. And I envy Buck, because it has found its own value, even though it appears to be bound by a rope loop, it has found the direction to run hard.

Buck's kindness not only won the support of his companions, but also forged a good bond. When Buck once again suffered bad luck due to the loss of value, the old man rescued him and completed a journey of regret but not regret with him. In the last journey of mystery, the old man got the salvation of his soul and found the courage to return to his family. And Buck has also found his own place to live, and a partner who will be with him in the future.

Although, in the finale, the old man died unfortunately because of the attack of the gold nuggets, Buck's wish to bid farewell to the white wolf and choose to accompany the old man was not fulfilled. However, in the real regrets, they have all found their own answers. The old man let go of the regret of the child's death, and Buck found himself who should have belonged to nature.

Reality is often not always satisfactory, but there is hope if we go on. Perhaps it is precisely because we have encountered all kinds of things in the world that we can understand ourselves more deeply and hear the original call of our heart.

Although, some people don't like this film and feel that it has lost the essence of the original. But I am still grateful, meeting it when I was at a loss, gave me a little motivation.

The Call of the Wild quotes

  • John Thornton: This is a map of the Yukon. My son was always reading adventure stories, crazy about the news coming out of the Yukon. Wasn't the gold, he didn't care about that, it was the mountains. He spent all day looking at maps and pictures of the mountains, dreaming about was on the other side, places no one had been, wild places. We could go, you and me, see what's out there. What do you think?

  • John Thornton: [narrates] There's a place in these mountains where a new breed of timber wolf roams, wiser than men or wolf, because of the dog that runs at the head of a pack. Now... they live without fear, raise their young and flourish.
