Seeing so many comments, I don’t like Annie very much. She is irritable, sensitive, inferior, noisy, and even some nervous system...everywhere, her "strength" is reflected; but when you think about it, Annie crawled out of the gutter. Her child, her past life experience, is destined to be an imperfect person, and her "shortcomings" are so reasonable. Although Annie tried to restrain herself from thinking about those dark scenes, she couldn't control the influence they brought to her. Reading and fantasizing may be the only straw that can temporarily save Annie in a painful environment. She fantasizes about herself as a princess, fantasizes about living at the top of the tower, fantasizes about all the good life... She speaks too rhetorically, loves to express, and sometimes Can't stop the car, maybe it used this way to brainwash itself, "force" to adapt, accept and endure the pain. Annie’s character and behavior all reflect the imprints of her original family and childhood experiences...but fortunately, her "strength" did support her crawling out of the gutter, driving her to grow tough and stubbornly toward the sun, so , I don't hate and understand Annie's "strength", her "strength" is precisely a symbol of her vitality and energy.
