At the beginning of the film, Catherine talked to her father in a daze, saying that she did not like to make friends with others. Only after the flashback was over did we know that our father had passed away, but that was just a memory of Catherine.

Then his father had a problem, and Catherine stayed with him for five years. In five years, my father had good times and bad times, but my sister who was far away in New York did not show any concern during these five years.
Catherine's memory was found by her father's student Hal to find the notes left by her father and confessed to Catherine, who had closed herself.
