You know, is it easy for me to say this for "domestic blockbusters" such as Golden A? Fortunately, I'm just a student at school, and I don't have the suspicion of a gunman. Zhang Yimou has made progress in this film, which is worthy of recognition. Of course, there are many shortcomings, but the progress should be praised. Let me follow one by one.
2. Chow Yun-fat and Gong Li play normally, but the most impressive role is the tattooed mother played by Chen Jin.
As far as the performance is concerned, Chow Yun-fat’s role is not challenging. The uttering "That's your brother!" lying on the prince's body shows his extraordinary acting skills. The rest of the time, he can do it with a deep acting. Gong Li's acting skills are the same as before, but a bit more heavy. This role is hysterical with daring to love and hate. It is a bit like her in "Memoirs of a Geisha". She can do it with ease.
Jay Chou didn't say anything, he was quite satisfactory.
Liu Ye didn't say anything, too, too much, why have to pervert all your roles?
Finally, I said that the tattooed mother played by Chen Jin was chased and killed in the valley. She turned around and called to her husband. That kind of heart-piercing feeling, that kind of emotional shock, I was in a domestic blockbuster for the first time. I feel that a very impressive performance, of course, comes from an actor who has always been impressive.
3. Finally, the lines finally passed.
Beat the gongs and drums, finally, the lines passed! Alas, it's not easy. Except for Liu Ye's sentence "You know that the whole world will think that I did it", everyone didn't laugh because of the lines, and this sentence was a performance problem.
Objectively speaking, the lines are more exquisite, and the style is relatively smooth. There is no strange situation of ancient costumes and modern times. The eunuch's timekeeping in the palace, and the change of formation of only one word during the confrontation of the two armies are all good ideas. It not only fits the plot, but also increases the artistic beauty.
4. But... the story is still not good enough
We all know that the story is related to "Thunderstorm", but the story is still not full. At the end of the tragedy, the honest people are dead and the little people are all alive. The story is clearly stated, but the adaptation of the story is not in line with the taste of modern people, and it is still open for discussion.
The way of telling the story is also slightly monotonous, and the rhythm control is still problematic. The court scenes are too continuous, which caused the audience to be impatient in the middle of the film. In this case, the interior and exterior scenes can be interspersed with narratives or inserted points. The content of the audience's excitement, the middle of the film should be said to be the lowest point of the audience's impression of this film.
The shocking investment and the scene must have a shocking story to match, otherwise, it can only be a sad movie, an empty movie.
"Golden Armor" Have you passed the level of the story?
All I can say is, hovering around the passing line.
5. The details are far from perfect. The
setting is gorgeous, the indoor is magnificent, and the outdoor is quiet and steep. The setting, framing, and photography of this film should have reached the extreme of today's Asian film scene.
But...
Even though the lines no longer show timidity, the laughter still appears, why?
Let me give you a simple example: After watching the trailer, my friends and I referred to it as "The City is Full of Women with Cleavage".
I understand the story of the Tang Dynasty.
I also understand that the clothing of the people of the Tang Dynasty is that style.
However, can I lift the garment up a bit so that my cleavage is not exposed?
Or, don't let the queen or Jiang Chan run from the other side of the palace to the other side of the palace and stare at the front of the house motionlessly...
The effect of the bumps and bumps is too disruptive to the atmosphere.
In the same way, the orangutan helmet that Jay Chou used when he played was also one of the failures.
6. Music is the biggest failure
When you should be solemn, find someone to chant a few times.
Still find someone to chant a few times when it should be calm.
The battle began several times.
The tragedy came down a few times.
Monotonous, incoherent, and poorly in line with the plot, there is no complete theme running through it, some just need music, cold scene, only the monotonous dialogue and the sound of the projector rotating... miserable!
The last part of the palace chant is inserted into the plot that is about to end. It naturally stretches the film and also pulls the audience out of the play. It is not necessary at all. It is abrupt and contrived. It feels that it exists to express Chinese culture, not for the plot. Need, this movie needs to exist.
In short, the film is disappointing in terms of music.
7. The scene, the Olympic rehearsal?
A lot of people.
A lot of people in uniform clothing.
A large number of people in uniform clothes do uniform movements.
Is this North Korea’s "team gymnastics"?
Is this really beautiful?
The extras have turned into piles of money. I think Zhang Yimou once again played "Hero" with ten enemy ten thousand tricks, which is disappointing.
Whereas Zhang Yimou is the person in charge of the opening ceremony of the Olympics.
I am here to express my concern: You don’t want to make the opening ceremony like this, do you?
Our Asian Games more than a decade ago would make children hold their pee and engage in this stuff.
Now only North Korea does these things.
The opening ceremony of the Olympics should be a free, diverse and popular carnival.
Rather than a uniform, neat, false, urinating "team gymnastics".
You must never turn the opening ceremony into a golden armour!
