There is a familiar scene at the beginning of the movie. Dan, played by Heath Ledger, walks into the runner of the playground with his beloved girl Candy. Two adults are very eye-catching among a group of children, while Casper played by Geoffrey Rush stands. Watching them with a smile on the wheel, the wheel began to spin, and it was very slow at first. Dan and Candy smiled and held each other tightly. The wheel turned faster and faster, like a record with singing, Dan kissed Candy, in the spinning world, it seems that there are only two of them left.

When I watch movies, I always lose my mind. I am in a trance as if time reappears. The image in front of me starts to turn black and white. Many years ago, the Parisian boy named Anton was smart, beautiful and sensitive, but his father left him. The mother was mingling with other men. He mocked the teacher at school. He skipped class with his only friend. He entered the runner in the playground. It turned faster and faster. He smiled as if he was still, the whole world. All revolving around him.

Candy may really have a double meaning, she is the girl he fell in love with, and she is the heroin who caused them both to sink together. Their love started with heroin. Candy overdose, and Dan woke her up with another shot of heroin. Candy has a prosperous family, just overdoing her father, mother with super-controlling desire, burying all her gifted dreams and emptiness and blind love in the fantasy realm of heroin; Dan's family does not mention it, but Casper is like It was his spiritual father, he blindly believed in everything about him, and even took Candy to inject high-concentration morphine with him. It was probably their first drug experience, and then they couldn't live without this Candy anymore. Casper is a doctor with status, but also a secret drug dealer. He used morphine to attract the boys who messed with him in his house, and fell into it with them. He has a special affection for Dan. You can feel it in his eyes, and finally after watching Dan and Candy enter a desperate situation, his peaceful overdose is like a suicide like relief.

Watching them chase the dragon in this way, from the beginning the illusory Heaven began to fall step by step, to Earth, and finally to Hell. Either suffering, or enjoyment, or unable to extricate themselves, that kind of struggle is heartbreaking, and the name of the old man seems to have been arranged. Maybe drugs can really inspire those artistic inspirations. The music and paintings that make us addicted are the products of extreme dizziness, but what do they get, happiness and torture? But this may actually be the truth of life.

The climax of the movie is in the crazy true story that Candy wrote on the wall and filled the room. I suddenly thought that when I was anxious, I would grab a pen and write every irregular word and sentence that appeared in my mind. This feeling is very real, but also very desperate. So later Dan rejected Candy with tears in his tears. The two Candy are one. Even though he loves her so much, the chemical reaction of this love makes him never let go of the other Candy. Addiction to love, addiction to drug, addiction to happiness, addiction to torture, to be addicted or not, what is the difference?

Note: An Australian independent film, based on Luke Davies’ novels, participated in this year’s Berlin Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival. Heath Ledger and Abbie Cornish played a pair of junkie lovers very authentically, and Geoffrey Rush’s role is even more true. There is a philosophical explanation for his drug addiction, and there are more comments that Abbie Cornish will be the next Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts. The name translated by the D publishers is "Love Poisonous Needle", which is not bad, but every temptation that cannot be shaken off is a poisonous needle.

Candy quotes

  • Dan: [reading of 'I Carry Your Heart With Me' by E. E. Cummings] Here is the deepest secret nobody knows. Here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide. And this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart... I carry your heart, I carry it in my heart.

  • Dan: We had a lot going for us. We'd found the secret glue that held all things together. In a perfect place, where the noise did not intrude, our world was so very complete.
