Far and Away

They needed a country that was big enough for both of their dreams.

"In 1882, a young Irish man born as a tenant farmer, his father died because the landlord Caosan killed him. He wanted to avenge his father but was in vain, but he got acquainted with the daughter of the big landlord. Xia Lan. This epic western immigrant film, with people’s dreams come true and shocking beauty, the photography and soundtrack are both outstanding, and a scene of running for the land begins."

The tone of this film is a bit humorous, it is that kind. The sense of humor that a nation has precipitated from the sufferings of history. The joke of "moon captain" made people laugh, but then it really became a slogan for the tenant farmers to resist. The two young men rashly came to the fiery American continent, pursuing their dreams of land in their hearts. In an unfamiliar continent, a peasant boy with a bad temper and a squeamish and arrogant landlord lady were bluntly drawn together by fate, but they became dependent on each other. Personality bumps and bumps, but the hardships of making a living are not easy, and love grows secretly from it. On Christmas Eve, the two homeless sneaked into the living room of a family to comfort each other. "Pretend this is our home, pretend i love you, pretend you love me...". As well as the long shot of Tom Cruise running in the snow, this film impressed me.

I imagined: This movie should be a young Irish immigrant's dream about the youth of his ancestors. The youth of the predecessors is always warm and interesting. Their dreams, their love, the suffering they have suffered, the sweetness they have drunk... None of this seems to be the point. From their living form, I touched a little bit of softness. They set me free.
