proof: proof of the soul

Watching this movie requires quietness and a little brainstorming.

The film is unfolded in an inverted narrative. The heroine is the daughter of a genius mathematician. But her father went crazy in the last five years, and thus faded out of people's sight. The daughter who inherited his father's talent has been taking care of his father. In that environment, her speech and behavior are somewhat unusual in the eyes of others. Until the death of her father, her sister and her father’s students broke into her life again...

Watching quietly and savoring carefully, you will feel the thick relationship between father and daughter that cannot be expressed in words and pictures. My love has quietly flowed into my heart.

I think it is inappropriate to translate it as evidence. Proof: There are many propositions and conclusions in mathematics that need to be proved; people also have many doubts and assumptions waiting to be verified in the depths of people's hearts.

The disadvantage is that the performance is not strong enough to produce strong appeal from the beginning.

Good acting, but sort of pointless...

The father-daughter relationship is touching, but the storyline is weak.

Proof quotes

  • Robert: You're gonna be okay.

    Catherine: I am?

Robert: Yes. I promise you. The simple fact that we can talk about this together is a good sign.

    Catherine: A good sign?

    Robert: Yeah.

Catherine: How could it be a good sign?

Robert: Because crazy people don't sit around wondering if they're nuts.

    Catherine: They don't?

Robert: No. They've got better things to do. Take it from me. A very good sign that you're crazy is an inability to ask the question, "Am I crazy?"

Catherine: Even if the answer is yes?

Robert: Crazy people don't ask, you see?

    Catherine: Huh.

Catherine: Oh, Jesus! Oh, you scared me.
