He thought he had picked a warm family movie to watch, but after reading it, he found that it was a gentle knife, and it was Hirokazu Kore-eda's cruel heart. There are so many kinds of middle-aged people's lives, and he chose the side of life that he couldn't bear.
The novelist could not fail any more. In his career, apart from winning a novel award fifteen years ago, he has never written a new work, and has to rely on helping people catch Xiao Sanwei. At home, he was addicted to gambling, lost his wife and son, and had nothing to bring him back. He turned around and went to steal the old mother's money and pawned the things at home.
Did he ever reflect? Yes, he knew more about cherishing the time he spent with his ex-wife and son than before the divorce. Even if you are poor, you have to buy the best sneakers and eat the best burgers for your son. Everyone told him to hurry up and he didn't listen. He followed his ex-wife's new boyfriend, found out the details of each other, and inquired about his ex-wife's tone. With the help of his mother, he left his ex-wife on a typhoon day and had a rare family reunion night.
But his repentance came too late after all.
The novelist's mother asked her daughter-in-law if it was really irreversible, and her daughter-in-law nodded firmly. Although the mother was heartbroken, she still expressed respect for her daughter-in-law's decision.
At the end of the film, the family of three put aside major topics and searched the park for scattered lottery tickets as if there had never been a crack. The lottery ticket was bought by the novelist and his son, who cherishes it very much.
The visit to his son on January 1 is about to end. The novelist watched his ex-wife and son leave, saw his son put the sneakers he gave him in his arms, and left with a smile.
Then there's a brisk piece of music that seems to indicate that the novelist can really start over.
Just looking at the main characters, except for the novelist, everyone in this family is impeccably good. But the fault of the novelist is borne by everyone, especially his mother.
Although it gave a relatively brisk ending, Hirokazu Kore-eda did not deliberately reverse the ending. That is, the cracks do exist, the loved ones do not love, and the past has indeed become the past. The undertone of sadness is that no matter what the novelist does, nothing can change these facts.
Can't ignore it, can't fix it, forget it. Kan is here right here.
Letting go, like a tribute to the past, is worth heartbreak and tears. But to move forward is to live up to the future, and it is worthy of prayers and blessings.
