We were born into this world to see and hear. Because of that, we don't have to be someone. We have our own meaning of existence.
This sentence really moved me.
There's a lot of beautiful light and shadow in this film, with characters in overexposed sunlight, or half in sunlight and half in shadow. I think that light is a symbol of life, even in the dark sometimes, but that hot, brilliant light is available with bare hands. We sometimes seem to deliberately put ourselves in the dark, reject the light, and feel sorry for ourselves in the pain we set, not knowing that it's just a trick we play.
In the film, the sparse sound of leaves swaying in the wind makes people feel like they are in it, the crisp birdsong, and the beautiful picture quality make people feel in it, life should be like this. To hear, to see, to smell, to touch, to feel with heart.
At the end, the boss's sentence "Dorayaki, come and try it" broke the haze. He finally got rid of the pain and embraced life again.
Sometimes, the meaning of life may be that feeling every moment of the present moment and enjoying the existence itself is enough happiness.
